This is my first month trying the OPK. The last four days my test line has been as dark or darker than the control line - WTH! I thought your surge was only supposed to be one or two days! Why is these sticks showing four days of almost Oing?

From what I understand, it can take a little while for your hormone levels to reduce. It doesn't matter how long it registers as positive, you usually are supposed to ovulate within 24 hours of the initial surge. It can take a while for the hormone to get out of your system sometimes.

Ditto! It could also be a weird batch of OPKs...I usually have one or two days of positives and once I tried the Answer strips (the ones that come in a bottle of 30) and every single one was positive for like 6 days. I switched to ICs after that cycle and haven't had a problem...

That would make sense if one brand was more sensitive....

It may just be that your body takes longer to get the LH out of your system. I know Bobbie has had this problem.

Once I get a blaring positive I usually stop peeing on them, so for all I know it could be happening with me too.

True...I guess that is why I like the ICs better for me. They must be less sensitive...

I had issues with multiple +opk's too. I just wanted to mention that fmu can give false positives for a very long time too, it is best to use second morning urine or later in the afternoon. I also used the Answer brand and found them to be extremely sensitive! Also it is possible that your body is trying to O but was delayed for some reason..stress, illness, ect.

I am using the Answer OPK so maybe it is just very sensitive like you all have mentioned. Thanks ladies!

Yep I get them for around 5-7 days most cycles. All others signs confirm O for me two days after my first + opk. (CM..temps...cervix position)

I like the Answer brand too but they are pretty sensitive. I have had good luck with the internet cheapies too, but usually only see 1 +. I would rather see them for 5-7 days instead of worry I missed my surge. That's just me though. At first all those +'s drove me banannas!

Good luck hon! Now go get those sperm.
