i will be ttc around july-ish but someone told me i should be taking folic acid while TTC. is that true? if so should i start taking it now x

Yes, folic acid is good for the development of your baby. You should try to get on any prenatal vitamins before you start TTC if possible. If not, just buy some Women's One-A-Day vitamins. I was taking One-A-Day's for a couple of months before I got my BFP. Good luck!!

Also, remember that folic acid is in a lot of foods that you eat. Check the nutrition labels on your food.

Yes, you should start your vitamins now. You don't have to worry about getting too much folic, your body won't absorb what it doesn't need. High risk girls are usually told to take 5mg.

For sure, I take the *5mg* since I lost 2 babies in 2nd tri.
I would never ttc with out takeing prenates even tho I organic garden (eat tons of fruit of veggies) and live a healthy active lifestyle.

im on at least a 2 cycle break and i am still taking it. better safe than sorry

thanks sarah, im going to get some. but im not sure whether or not to check with my doctor first, i forgot to mention had the methotrexate. and that works by blocking folic acid apprently

if your levels are back to "not pregnant" levels all should be ok hun. if you are worried you could always start by taking multi vits and then change when you get the all clear

Yes, take them. After the m/c my doctor told me that if we were going TTC that I should not stop taking them.

sarah my level of hch on 31st march was 1 i think it was below 5 anyway which i was told is non pregnant levels. im gonna ring the hospital again tomorrow and ask. i forgot to ask today
