They are called Ovulation Predictor Kits or OPK's. They detect the LH surge which happens 24-48 hours before Ovulation (I am pretty sure about the 24-48 hour part...but could be remembering wrong)

I have had the best luck with the Answer Brand 20 pack(under$25) (NOT the 7 pack mid-stream) I have also had really good luck with the internet cheapies you can buy on ebay.

If you are just starting with them and have a 28-30 day cycle... I would pee on them twice a day starting at cycle day 10-11. Midday/nighttime urine seems to work better than first morning.

Hope that helps

On 1/31 at exactly 16 weeks pregnant Noah came too soon. He was our 7th loss
If you would like to see pictures of my sweet (but tiny) boy they can be viewed at www.caringbridge.org/visit/noahdarrohn they aren't the easiest pitures to look at but I am willing to share them with anyone who would like to see them <3

They actually never worked for me. The test line is supposed to get as dark as the control line. Mine never did. But others they have worked great for. My body must be wacky. G/L to you though

Send a message via MSN to .x~KAT~x.
they are great iMO and i have the perfect ebay user for you to buy them from....
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PRIVATE-50-OVULATION...1QQcmdZViewItem
I bought these such a bargain and successfully predicted my ovulation and my subsequent pregnancy! i got 30 ovulation tests and 20 preg tests which should be enough for about 3 cycles depending on how addicted you get!!

id recomend testing twice daily from about cd11 until you detect your ovulation surge and then you can start bding like crazy to catch the egg. IMO ovulation predictors are a must xxx
