When to test

Could anyone share how long after a D&C that they received their first period. On Tuesday it was four weeks for me, but we have kind of been trying. My HCG was low only 7,000 when I had my d&c so I thought I would get my period back pretty quickly. I had no bleeding either after the d&c, I had a blighted ovum. I'm not sure if I should wait till this weekend and then just test in case I am pregnant. I know I have been having some signs, like sore boobs and a few pimples (otherwise I never have pimples), but I don't want to get my hopes up either. When would you test or would you wait it out for another couple of weeks?

I had my m/c and d&c in august of last year. My levels didn't drop until late October for some reason. I was only 7w1d. So, I didn't even get my first af until the end of october.

The dr didn't want to see if your levels dropped?

im kinda surprised that they didnt have you get betas to follow your HCG also.

Id say wait 2 weeks and then test maybe? i dunno hunny.

Test are cheap

I say test now and if it's + test again in a couple day to make sure it is getting darker, then give your DR a call.

I hope you get a blaring BFP

My first AF's showed up 4 weeks almost to the day after all my losses. Good luck hon

My last af after a natural m/c at 17 then d&c after took 7w 4d and I Oed before I had af but I was TTA till first af. I got pg the first cycle.

This time I had d&c after a induction at 17w pg and its been 5 weeks and a few days and waiting again for first af. I am TTA till first af and took HPT till neg at 18days after d&c.

I am surprised your dr said to ttc before first af? Most say wait a 1 to 3 cycle depending on DR.

I had a miscarriage (w/o a D&C) on April 25. I have yet to have my period. Last week Tuesday, my levels were only at 15. So if AF is coming, she's coming in a few days. If not, then I might just be pregnant. It bothers me that your doctor didn't have you go back for weekly tests for your HCG level. 7,000 is really high still. When I miscarried, my levels were only at 3,400 and dropped to 346 in a week. I'd wait for a couple of weeks and then test.

Your levels have to be back to 5 or less before you can ovulate from what I understand. If you dont O your lineing just builds up till it sheds itself and you start a new cycle.

I waited about 5 1/2 weeks after my D&C for AF to arrive.

And, my doctor never checked my levels--before the D&C or after--so it's not too crazy that your doctor didn't

If it was me, I'd wait before I tested, but that's just me

I HATE seeing those BFN's!!

Thanks for the advice everyone! Just to answer a few questions, I was suggested to wait, but I decided why wait, I can't, I just want to have another baby. I have read tons on info on conceiving right away and there are views to support waiting and not waiting. I know that I am emotionally ready and as for my body, I'm hoping that if it wasn't ready I just wouldn't get pregnant. If it's meant to be it's meant to be. I took a test last night that was negative. That way I at least know my levels are down! We'll see if anything shows up in the next week, if not then maybe I'll test again!

Good luck ttcing and I hope you dont have to try for long! I am glad you took a HPT.
Thats all I did to monitor my levels. I never had a blood BHCG after any of the 5 loss's I have had. They were not Molars so no biggy.

I *think* I may have oed I will know in a couple days and IF I did then af is comeing in about 12 days I can ttc! I am a wee bit excited it has been 5 and half weeks now.
