OMG so we went for a walk with DS and the dogs tonight. As we were trying to beat the rain home it started. So beautiful (i love the rain) but prolly not the best thing to have DS out in.
So we high tail it home, only to get back to my cell phone ringing like crazy. It was my mom, she called to check on us. Im like "um yeah we are fine why?" Well, aparently we have a severe weather watch in effect tonight and 2 tornadoes have touched down 15 min from my house!!!!!!! WOW! So yeah if im not on much tonight that is why.

That's crazy!! I'm glad you guys got home safe. Do you guys have tornado sirens? If the tornadoes touched down 15 minutes from your area, your sirens should have sounded.

Nope it is totally unheard of this area getting them so no sirens. Scary but awsome at the same time. im stoked, that is, until the power goes out or it is the middle of the night and hailing but until then it should be ok. Thank you all for the concern. At least i know what to watch for right?

Oh, we have no tornado sirens here either. It's Phoenix though. lol All we get are dust devils. I'm originally from Wisconsin though, so I know all about those loud tornado sirens. The whole county sets their alarms off if a neighboring county has a tornado.

i know you're in the navy right? i don't remember if there was a base out there, besides 29 palms, but that's farther out.

How was the rest of your evening? Anymore excitement?

I was going to ask the same question as Pound, what part of CA are you in? That's amazing you had tornadoes, I don't know that I've ever heard that out there. I spent 3 years in Northern California, San Francisco to be exact. I remember the night there was a storm and there was all kinds of lightening, everyone was completely freaking out because they hadn't seen lightening out there in like a decade or more. I'm from NE originally, and living out there made me miss 'real' storms. The first winter that I visited out there, they had snow too, and everyone was all excited. I thought that was amusing too!

I'm been pretty cool, we have gone from 100 degree weather to rain, lighting, thunder, it's so cool! I haven't heard about the tornados but today in the news they said that we could have some twister. You have to love the in so cal.

Woohoo!!! Im still here!! So nothing too bad last night. I dont think anymore tornadoes. Just those two early on. Heavy rain which was amazing and i was thrilled.

I live in Murrieta it is in Riverside County. The tornadoes aparently touched down in Lake Elsinore. I have only ever had this happen one other time, it was like 6 years ago and it was the night before we moved away from Cali. to Idaho, that was wicked cool, we got as far as the hail part, no tornado tho.

Thanks for checking up on me ladies!!!! You all are awsome

Linda im stationed out at Camp Pendelton, it is a marine base, but i work in the hospital Its in Oceanside.

Ohhh, I have family in Lake Elsinore!!! We stayed there one summer when we were vacationing. It's a Great Uncle & Aunt and their extended family. Was there any damage, did you hear?

I'm not very familiar w/ So CA, Lake Elsinore is the only 'burb I know. I guess I know where Long Beach is too, because I worked for a company that had a branch there. In all the time I lived out there, Monterey was the furthest south we visited. The trip to LA, when we stayed in Lake Elsinore, was back in high school.

Glad to hear the rest of your evening was fine!!
