did you buy anything for your babies before you lost them?
have you still got them?
will you use them for your sticky bean?

i bought a lot of things for my baby, mainly clothes but i also bought a small bedside cot, a vibrating moses basket, baby bouncer, cloth nappies (actually its easier to say my baby was kitted out for the first 6 months of their life! )
the only thing we didnt buy really was a pram. now people think i am sad because i plan on keeping these things and using them if i every get my sticky bean. the fact is i bought them over a period of time, things i saw and thought "omg i would have loved that for sadie, this time im doing it right" (i was single from day one with sadie so she didnt have all i would have liked her to have)
my angel never got to use these things and they were bought for my baby not for a particular baby if that makes sense.
just wondered what everyones opinion is.
xx
can you tell mark isnt here? hes off for a lay down with a sore head so im posting as much as i can to keep the board moving )

I mainly just bought maternity clothes... some of which I returned, the others I kept. I have so much left over form my dd, I don't know I would need to buy anything if it was a girl...

I think that your reasoning makes complete sense. I might set aside one outfit, in rememberence, but beyond that I would probably use it for your sticky bean.

i have a teddy i bought the day i found out i was pregnant that im keeping for memories of my baby. its a "daddy and baby" bear. its kept on a shelf in my bedroom. i also kept the first booster i made for the nappies with it.
i was so tempted to put all the stuff on ebay when i lost the baby but decided id spent so much money on it that i would keep it because if im not lucky enough to get a sticky bean, i have 2 teenage boys so it may not be that long before i need them for my grandchildren!

I bought a few bibs. That's about it. My mom sent an outfit for a boy/girl and some baby blankets.

Since we lost Cora at 38w, yes, we had everything.

have you still got them?
I returned all the diapers and wipes and bath stuff...you know, things that could be easily gotten again. (this is why I didn't buy any diapers or wipes or anything while pregnant with Erin. I couldn't stand the idea of having to return several packages of diapers again. So I waited to buy them after Erin got here) We kept all the furniture and clothes.

will you use them for your sticky bean?
Yes, practically everything that Erin wore in the first 3 months (except her coming home outfit and blessing dress) was something I had bought/received during my pregnancy with Cora. All the nursery furniture I bought when pregnant with Cora, etc.

Yes, I had a lot. I had lots of maternity clothes, as I was showing by the time I lost Marina. I have a stroller, two carseats, clothes, bottles, pacifiers, bouncer, diapers, among others. I was so happy to be pregnant, I started buying things right away. I hope someday I get to be pregnant again so another baby can use these things.

I bought a couple of outfits. Several of them were "holiday" outfits I found on clearance at Carters. Because I had bought them with an age in mind when that holiday rolled around, I figured I couldn't use them later, so I gave them to my neices "yard sale" fundraiser for her school. I bought another outfit that is gender neutral and I still have that hanging in the closet of what will eventually be the nursery. I also got a few things from other people (butt paste as a joke) but I've kept all them. Oh, I also got some formula and other "expiration" items as free gifts so I gave those to the yard sale too. The outfit I still have is in the same closet as our suitcases and such. Of course my heart skips a beat every time I go in there to get a suitcase or put one away.

I bought some maternity clothes which I kept - in fact I still wear the t-shirts! The only other thing that I bought was a November due date necklace. I still have it (in fact, I've never worn it). I don't know if I should keep it, or sell it, or give it away. Hopefully I'll be ordering a February due date necklace soon!

I went and bought some new well deserved maternity clothes. I never ever indulge myself we had seen Angels heart beat on 14 w u/s everything looked great she measured perfect! We ( dh and all the kids) went to the store feeling that baby will be ok!!!

I bought 2 new super cute shirts plus and my mom sent me one for kayaking in all fat and preggy this summer..She died exactly 2 weeks to the day later.

I will *use* them again as I acually didnt get to use them at all.

I wanted to say my sister lost her dd at 6w from SIDS and she reused everything except the bassinette Jenifer passed away in.

As for baby stuff I have everything under the sun and I am not kidding. With #7 I bought the whole Ocean wonders set from fisher price. With #8 I had to replace the swing with the rainforest version for 1 reason..That sucker has a PLUG IN!!!

If I am blessed to be pg again I am sad to say I WILL not buy a thing till at least 24 weeks It sucks tho feels like your being robbed the first half you pg like your in pg limbo but I am willing to go there

We were only 5 weeks and some days along when it happened so we didn't have anything new for our little one. We were about to go down to the States and do some shopping and maybe pick up some things but we would have left on Saturday and I think it was Friday that we found out I was no longer pregnant. We didn't go shopping, stayed at home instead.

I got a BUNCH of stuff from my brother and SIL when we started TTC...swing, bathtub, pack and play, etc. A lot of the bigger items.

When I found out I was pregnant, I got a bib that says "I *heart* Daddy" and then about 4 onesies that I bought once I saw a heartbeat.

I think the bib will always belong to Thomas. The onesies I might use for a future baby. They are very summery and I thought I might end up not being able to use them, because I'd have to have a baby in the 3-6 month range. But now since it is taking so stinking long to conceive again, it's possible I may have a baby to fit into them.

Since my miscarriage I've bought about 4 more onesies that were on sale. Those I will definitely use.

Pics of some of the onesies I got for Thomas:

(just in case I had a girl)

aww shannon they are so cute!
im glad im not the only one that will use the things for our next baby. i bought the things while we were trying and have since bought new sleeping grows etc for the next one.
we (I) already said i wouldnt have the pram in my home before baby born but wouldnt even buy it until i was into 3rd trimester, since my m/c im even more determined of that and thankfully mark understands that but the only thing left for me to buy really is monitors and he said im not allowed to buy them as ive left nothing for his family to buy for the first yr!

I was already in to my 2nd trimester when I had my first m/c and I had bought all kinds of stuff. The only thing I didnt keep and use for DS was the bedding set. I had just gotten it all out and washed and put on the crib when we found out. It was too much for me to see it after that.
