Hello. I posted something like this yesterday, but now I can't seem to find my original post to see if anyone answered...sorry. Could anyone please help me?

I had a mc at 8 weeks and a day, 13 days ago (the Wednesday before last).

I was hoping my cycle would get back to normal ASAP. This past Saturday (CD 11) I woke up with what I was sure were O pains in my left side. I used an OPK just to see if I could figure out what was going on, and it was a definite positive.

Well, I wound up with a +OPK up until yesterday (Monday). I also had a bit of cramping on my right side, as well. In the past, I would only get a + for one day, then it would start fading. (I took another today, and the second line had faded.)

I read online that leftover Hcg after a mc can cause a false +OPK, but I took a PG test yesterday, and it was a definite, complete negative result.

I can't go by EWCM because I'm older and unfortunately don't get any anymore like I used to. My sleep has been disrupted lately, so my BBT's aren't reliable, either. My temp was still low at 2 AM this morning, but by 5:30 when I woke up for good, it was 97.8 (halfway between normal pre and post O for me).

Does anyone have any experience with false +OPK's after a mc? Do you think I already ovulated and if so, when? My left side stopped hurting on Sunday, and I only feel a bit of a twinge once in awhile on the right, now.

When I had the ultrasound to confirm the mc, the technician said one of my ovaries had a couple cysts, but my doctor said that was caused by the PG and nothing to worry about. Could cysts cause a false positive?

Sorry for such a long post. I just hate not knowing what is going on with my body.

Thank you for any help.

First of all, I am So sorry for you loss

Im not TOO familiar with opks.. But.. I have heard, and seen PAOS addicts do experiments with them.. And OPKS, Can detect very small amounts of Hcg levels.. Less then a HPT... So .. You could get a neg hpt, but a pos OPK and not be oing.. Just 13 days after the mc, I would think your levels would be either Just at 0 or not quite.. Hmm. I know im not MUCH help.. Hopefully some one else can give u more help than I did.. But I honestly don't really think you would be oing so soon after.. I never hada problem with Oing, temping, etc.. and Im 20 days post D&C and still havent o'd.. My temps are very whacky still..

I did not chart or check OPKs until 2 months after my M/C so unfortunately I can not help you.
I do know that there have been at least a few ladies that have ovulated soon after a M/C.
Hopefully they can answer your question.

I did want to tell you that I am sorry for your loss and welcome to our board.

Hi. Thank you ladies!

From what I've read, it IS possible to O maybe 2 weeks after a mc, but it sure can be confusing. I am a regular on an "older moms" board, where sadly, many ladies have lost their angels, and it seems lots of them get AF 4-5 weeks after their loss, so I'm guessing they O'd maybe 2-3 weeks after.

I asked my doctor what to expect but she sort of left me in the dark, as though anything could happen.

I guess I shall have to check my temps in the morning...hopefully I will get some answers there, because that is supposed to be a pretty sure way to tell. It's odd, but the whole time I was PG I actually slept well! Before that, I'd been waking up at 2 almost every night and staying awake for hours after...that started up again recently. But maybe I'll be lucky tomorrow.

Thanks again for your replies, and sorry too for your losses.

Hey there.. Yeah that sounds about right.. oing 2-3 weeks after.. You can check out my chart.. I really thought I was guna get cross hairs this morning, but to my surprise my temp HARSHLY dropped .. If it was higher than 36.4*c I would have gotten cross hairs... My charts weird.. Yeah I would definitely suggest temping.. If you wake up in the middle of the night, jus take your temp then.. as long as you've had atleast 3 hrs of straight sleep with out waking up, of course, the longer the better.. But Say you passed out at 11 pm, and woke up at 3 am, you could take your temp then... jot it down, and go back to sleep.. cuz you wouldve had more than 3 hrs straight sleep.. Good luck with charting.. You should post your link so we can Stalk it!

Hi, thanks.

I don't post my temps, as actually I just try to take them and make a mental note of when they went up, and count from there. Luckily, it's usually a big enough jump that it's hard to miss.

I had a blighted ovum, btw. Oddly, I had much stronger and much earlier symptoms (terrible bloating/ upset stomach, etc.) with the baby I lost, than with the ones I had. But, my 8 week ultrasound showed just an empty sac, and no baby. It really sad when you imagine everything's fine because you feel so pregnant, and everything just ends like that.

I think from now on if I'm ever able to try again, I won't obsess about symptoms or lack thereof and what it means anymore.

I'm sorry again for your loss...
