I was just wondering if you can fill me in on IUI? Michelle in TTC 6+ mos. told me you had success with IUI. My husband and I are considering doing an IUI this cycle (CD1 today). I was on Clomid last cycle. Basically I am just wondering what all you can tell me about your experience with it? I know nothing! haha

You can also double check on TTC w/ medical assistance and there should be some more info there... Good Luck and KUP!!

Sorry.... I don't know how I missed this post

I did IUI with injectables for the first time last cycle.

I went in on CD 5 (but they can do it anywhere from CD3-5) for a baseline ultrasound. They check the lining of the uterus and the ovaries. To make sure there aren't cysts and the lining is thin enough.

Then I started my injectable that day. I started on two vials of Menopur. I injected them into my leg. You can do either the leg or stomach. I was on two vials until around CD9 (I think) then they upped it to 3 vials of Bravelle. (It is just one shot no matter how many vials) I went in for blood work twice to check my estrogen. I was on injectables from CD5-13. On CD13 I went in for another ultrasound to see how many follicles I had. I had two and they were 15mm.

After the ultrsound I did one more injection that night and then the next day(CD14) went in for my trigger HCG shot (10000mui) They did that one in my backside. She had me stand up and put all the weight on one leg and then they inject it into the top part of your butt/lower back area. That didn't hurt at all!

The next day CD15 I went in for my IUI. We had to bring the sperm in at 8am. The IUI was at 11:45. It didn't hurt at all. They have you get on the table like they are going to do a pap...and insert the speculum and then catheter. It took about 90 seconds. We had 12 million sperm to put in. They are in a pink solution Cute!

I had taken that day off from work and just took it easy. We had sex again that night. The next day...about 44 hours after the trigger.... I FELT ovulation. It hurt for about 30 minutes. Like really bad af cramps. I was loving it Somehow we managed to have sex during that O pain. I really think that is what did it, but I will never know for sure.

My HCG trigger showed positive on a HPT until around 8 days after the trigger...6dpo. It went almost negative and then started getting darker. I go for my blood test today and will have the results tomorrow.

If you have any more questions, just ask I can let you know cost when I get the bills. So far I know:
Meds $40-$50 per vial (I used 23 vials)
Trigger shot $36
Bloodwork each time $100 (I went twice)
