Yesterday evening i recieved a call from my midwife and she said that the consultant wouldnt see me. She said the consultant said ' If you want to get pregnant then youl just have to keep going through this (meaning my ectopic losses)

That seems pretty insensitive to me! now i dont know what to do, i cannot just keep getting ectopic pregnant and then being ill for months on end, but apparently if i want anouther baby that is what i should do WTH!!

Im completely stumped and in my heart i feel like i just cant face this whole ordeal for a third time, so maybe i wont? i just hoped to see a doctor and they could tell me whether i have any chance or not, so atleast i could know and begin to get over it and start planning IVF treatment

What should i do? should i go back to my own GP who will probably only send me to that evil consultant anyway, should i just give up and begin private IVF treatment or should i try one more time naturally first.

IM LOST

aww hun im sorry about all this, what a nightmare but, if i were you i would go back to your GP, you have a right to see a diffrent consultant for a second opinion, so that is what i would do.

thats awful what the doctor said, how insensitive (sp?) Have you had any tests done hun to prove that its going to happen again? maybe the could take a look on a scan or laparoscopy if they havnt done already, to check it all out? sorry if im talking rubbish

Those tests are what i was hoping for, it just dosent make sense to just ignore 2 ectopics in 6 months

I'm sorry you aren't getting the medical support that you should be. I have no experience with ectopic pregnancies, so I don't have advice on that, but I will say that I think you should ditch the doc who said you have to keep going through this. Ectopic pregnancies are serious (and dangerous) and asking the docs to help you assess your future risk (and hopefully find some answers) with some further testing certainly doesn't seem like an outrageous request to me. Again, I'm so sorry that your tough situation is being made tougher by insensitive docs!

I'm so sorry! What a hateful thing to say. I would report the consultant. I would also go back to the GP and ask for a differnent consultant or for them to run the tests to see why this is happening. G/L You are not alone...we are all here for you honey

A friend of mine went through several ectopics before they found out that her cervical mucus was too thick and it caused problems with the fertilized egg implanting. She had to have IVF and it has worked 2 times for her now. I honestly think that you should go to a different specialist and get some tests run. Screw the one who said you have to keep going through losses, it's not the right thing to do.

OMG, how insensitive! I don't understand why they will not consult you... is it b/c you have not had 3 losses??? I think I might talk to you gyn and see if they can refer you to someone else. There have got to be other doctors that you can see who will treat you! Not only that, but ectopic's can be fatal, so why would they want you to have another?!?! That just doesn't make sense to me!

I am so sorry that you are going thru this... KUP and big in the meantime!

I would go back and talk to your GP, you have the right to see another specialist. I can't be much help since I never had an ectopic pregnancy but I show my support and say that I'm sorry that people are so rude and insensitive, unfortunately there are a lot of those and for some reason us ladies get them all the time.

Kat i really dont know what to suggest, but i do know that id be so mad. id for sure report that consultant. I cant believe she or he could be so thoughtless and have the oddacity to say something like that to someone trying for this.

I really hope you get some answers soon, and that the Dr. treats you better when you go in.
