I'm so FURIOUS!

So the guy from the water company just walked up to my door and stuck a paper in it and left. By the time I got outside he was gone. It was a notice that they had shut off my water for non-payment. I never even got a termination notice. reason: I PAID THE FRIGGIN' BILL! I went up to the water department and threw a fit. She looked in her computer and then goes "Oh, I'm sorry. You're right. You paid that. We'll turn that back on ASAP." I asked her when.....I should be getting ready for work right now, and I need a shower. Her response....."It'll probably be tomorrow before I can get them back over there." I went off and told her that if the water isn't back on by 5:00 when they close I'll be contacting my attorney first thing in the morning and that he would contact them after that. It would be one thing if the payment hadn't been made, or even if it had been late, but it was ON TIME! Besides.....I'm literally 3 blocks from the office. Walk your butt over there and fix YOUR mistake!

If I don't have water tonight because these morons can't do paperwork correctly someone is going to do some SERIOUS apologizing. This is BS!

Oh if they think I'm mad.....just wait until DH gets home from work. He works in a meat factory. Makes bacon and works in 30 degree temps. He comes in cold, sticky and stinky. If he has to go to his mom's and shower because these morons made a mistake like this............ I pity whoever has to be the one to deal with him.

ETA: The worst was the way they treated me. Yes, I was in pj pants and a tshirt that didn't even come close to matching...I was trying to get ready for work when you shut my water off! I told the first lady (as calmly as I could) what was going on. She nodded while giving me the "yeah right...heard this one before" look and says "Liz, can you come handle...this!" and looks towards me. The guy sitting behind the first lady said, "It's okay. I'm sure you meant to pay it. You can pay it now and they can turn it right back on with no fees." GRRRRRR! Then when Liz "handles" it she finds the payment and NO ONE even said they were sorry! I hate rude people!

I would be livid too. I'm glad you went and gave them a piece or your mind. What idiots to think that you should have to wait for them to fix THEIR mistake. KUP on what happens.

I would be REALLY mad and probaly would call back and ask to speak w/ the supervisor. Then if he/she didn't give you a fix, I would call corporate office.

I also agree, they can't get away with doing this to people. Even if they turn the water on tonight, you should still file a complaint with the corporate office.

The pains of living in the middle of no where....the city runs the water department here. The man who was sure I meant to pay and just forgot was the mayor. Can't go much higher. I am going to write a letter to the editor about this.

They came and turned on the water a couple minutes ago. I was putting some stuff in the car for our camping trip. The guy is seriously less than 10 feet from me and did say a word to me. Not "Hi I'm here to turn the water back on" not "Sorry about the mistake". Nothing. That's when I decided to write a letter to the paper. Not sure it'll get published though. The editor is a friend of the mayors. At moments like this I HATE small towns. Most the time they are great but times like this.......

At least I got my water back on.

i actually DID forget to pay it once, they turned it off, and i waited a few minutes for them to go around the corner and i turned it back on hahahahha. then i ran up and paid it. they said that they would turn it on in a few minutes and told them not to worry about it....i took care of it!

last time i went up there (bc of my neighbor neglecting his dogs) they mentioned that they now put masterlocks on them if they get turned off

. guess i should have kept my mouth shut!

Yeah.... if they hadn't turned it back on I would have probably done it myself and then turned it back off in the AM so they didn't realize it. It's just the point of them screwing up that makes me so mad!

UGHhh Noway!! I know I am way late but ..That blows my mind!

I have acuallly never lived in a place were my water is controlled by someone else.

We have acsess to our own water on our property. I cant imagine how LIVID you must have been.

As for the letter , Thats a great plan! I hope someone at least gets to read it even its not printed.
