My name is Tracy and I'm new to the TTC forums but not JM. I had my checkup at the OBGYN today to release me back to work after losing my Kairi on May 3rd to full placental abruption at 20w. I've been given the 'green light' whenever AF shows herself. We'll be trying again in August or so.

My OB is sending me to have my Lupus Anticoagulants/Anticardiolipins checked the middle of next month. I was wondering if anyone else has had them checked and if they are positive, what it may mean for my next pregnancy.

I appreciate any input anyone has.

I haven't had those things checked either, but here is what I googled:

Anti Anticardiolipins Antibody

It is a research study on the correlation between pregnancy loss and a positive result for the lupus test. Hope this helps give some info on it.

I don't know too much about this, but due to some other symptoms I've had, I get this test panel if I m/c again. My doc says that a positive for one of these blood clotting tests means heparin (blood thinner) during subsequent pregnancies. This, of course, makes the pregnancy a bit more high risk, but from what I've read lots of women are very successful on heparin.

I'm so sorry for your loss! I hope you'll hang out here for awhile....the ladies here are very supportive.

ty for the welcomes and the info, I prolly should have asked the OB more....but she is the one that was on duty the nite I lost Kairi....so atm, I don't feel terribly comfortable around her (hope she doesn't take it personally) and she did mention Heparin but I wasn't sure what it was.

I am so sorry for your loss ((hugs))

I had mine done today and get results back in 3 weeksish.

MY OB already discussed heparin injects and baby asprin if it comes back poss. She doubts it will. She wanted me to wait 6w before doing the blood panel. My loss at 17 seams to be from a SCH.

Good luck with your blood work KUP!!!
