So every night we put Gavin to bed, and always say good night and i love you. He usually trys to repeat it but it sounds like a garbled mess tonight i called home to talk to DH since im gonna be here at work until kinda late, and gavin took the phone. I told him good night and i love him and he said I LOVE YOU!!! Clear as day, so here i sit crying my eyes out. My little man is growing up
Of course shortly after he hung up on me, but hey, he is only 2.

Aren't they incredible? Mine says, "I you I" for I love you....I have no idea how it ended up that way, but it is endearing none-the-less. The other day when she wanted daddy to wake up and play with her she said, "I you I Daddyo" then stuck her finger in his ear!

How adorable!! There's just no reward like a child's love! That's why we're all here, huh.
I had a similar night-time routine w/ my ds when he was younger. We still do it on occasion. I'd tell him I love him, he'd tell me he loves me more, then I'd ask him if he knows how much mommy loves him, and he says 'infinity and beyond', and my response is 'always and forever.' I have no idea how it got started, but it makes my heart melt.
