Can you take Zyrtec when pregnant? I've been taking Zyrtec for my allergies, but if I'm possibly pregnant, should I switch to something else?

I don't know either, I know that Benadryl (it might be a low dose of it), it's ok. I found a wepgage that gave you all this info, let me see if I can find it again.

I'm no help sorry! Isn't there a web-site that has a listing of pregnancy safe medications? I can't remember what it is, but I looked up one of my gastro-meds on it. I'll have to hunt and see if I can find it again.

I was okayed for Claritin while pregnant with Erin...but...it just wasn't working like I wanted it to, so I decided to try Zyrtec. Maybe I'll switch back until I know whether I am pregnant or not.

They are both Class B on Safefetus.com so I would think you are ok. I take Claritin everyday and I would feel comfortable taking Zyrtec because they are in the same class.

That's what I was thinking actually. Once I found out that claritin was a class B too, I decided I wouldn't worry about it.

I was okayed to take Chlortriplon and to use Dristan nasal spray. I tried to only take it when I really needed it though.
I hope the allergies clear up for you!

I'm allergic to cottonwoods (actually, any tree that doesn't flower, but mostly cottonwoods), and around here they pollinate all summer long. If I *am* pregnant, I'll ask about it when I go in. But for now, I'll just keep taking it since it's more effective than the Claritin.
