I wanted to know how many of you are still popping prenatal vitamins while TTC.

I'm currently taking Natelle. They are $30/mo now that my health care account is empty. The normal price is $43/mo. So, yeah.. I'm still getting a discount. I just think $30/mo is ridiculous, especially in this economy right now.

What does everyone else take? Are there substitutes I could use while this economy is suffering? I just don't want to spend an extra $30/mo on vitamins. My cousin told me I could take Flintstone's vitamins. I just don't know how true that is.

Any help or suggestions would be great. Thanks!!

I had a REALLY hard time taking prenatals when I was pg with DS.... My doc told me to take a regular Adult Multivitamin (Like 6 bucks a bottle, for 60 tabs.. So thats 2 mths) a 1mg Folic Acid (Bout 6 bucks a bottle, for 60 tabs also) and I could throw in some Flinstones too jus for the added vites.... He said if I couldnt stomach the reg adult multi, I could take 3 or 4 flinstones a day, plus the folic acid... And of course a good diet... So all in all, I paid about 12 bucks a month... (I bought the flinstones once, they had 100 tabs in it, and I jus took one or two on top of the other vites I was taking every other day or so..)

Im not taking prenatals now, as Ive ALWAYS had a hard time taking them.. Ive been jus sticking to my Reg Adult Multi, Folic Acid, Sea Kelp, and Chewables when I think of it... Also eating well..

Oh nice! I wonder how much they are in the US. I just want an off brand prenatal vitamin. It will save money which is a very important priority.

Go into a walmart or something compare what they have. Look and see how much folic acid in them.

And yes, I'm taking prenates. I've never been able to keep it up when pregnant though. =Þ They make me too sick.

I've been taking some I get from Trader Joe's. I compared them with a list of all the vitamins and amounts I would need and they passed the test. They cost me $11 for two month's worth.

I'm not taking any pre-natals right now. When I do, it'll be the same as Steph, the Materna. Unless my doc wants otherwise, I'm not spending more than $20 on them!

I'm taking OneSource prenatals from Walmart. Kinda nice because you take 2 little pills instead of 1 jumbo pill.

Not too expensive either.

I take them too. I have been taking them for about the past 3 years. I take what ever is the best buy for my money I took the one source from Wal-Mart (less than $5 a bottle) for a long time, and now I take Exchange Select (a brand made for military exchanges) As long as you are getting the same percentages of all the main vitamins and most of all folic acid you should be good with any brand.

I had been, but I've run out. I need to go get more. There are other vitamins that I take though, just not specifically prenatal. But I do take folic acid.

I take the Nature Made Prenatals from Walmart. They're like 8 bucks for 90. You take one a day, so that's for 3 months worth!

I've been taking them for over 2 years now. I just have to make sure I eat before I take them or I did get sick when pregnant.
