I went to the ER tonight because I felt like I was having a UTI (tmi, sorry) and while I was in with the doctor he did a pelvic exam and an ultrasound while the lab was running tests on a urine sample. I saw more on this ultrasound than I did on the one I had when I had my loss -- a gestational sac.
Once I got to the waiting room, the doctor called and told me they did a pregnancy test on the urine sample I gave and the test came up negative. He said what he saw on the ultrasound may have been a pseudo cyst and he ordered a beta draw. I won't have the results of that until tomorrow morning. Here is my question:
I did an FRER yesterday with FMU and i got a BFP. I did a CBE Digital this morning (I wanted to see the word) and got another BFP. Is it possible the doctor's urine test wasn't sensitive enough?

I know my dr uses much less sensitive tests then the ones I use.
For example I had clear BFP I went to dr and it was neg...wait....... wait.......Finally hers came up BFP after 10 min and so light you could barely see it.
Right then and there she ordered a beta and it was 80 I did m/c later but her test was much less sensitive.
I was almost 5 weeks when she did her urine test.
I see your just 14dpo (4 weeks) Pretty early to rule out pg unless they did blood work to confirm 5 or less beta.

i hope their test is just less sensitive! i'm pretty sure i've read that drs use less sensitive tests cuz at the point most women go to the dr for a pg test, they've already missed their period so wouldn't need a super sensitive test. good luck!!!!!!

I hope their test was just less sensitive, and the 2 liters of water I drank before I got to the hospital probably didn't help. They did blood work for a beta. I have to call in the morning for the numbers. I'm crossing my fingers and staring at the ultrasound picture in the meantime.

My Doc told me that some of the over tyhe counter tests are stronger than his so for me to just use them. He said if I get a pos. on them than they are pos. Good luck but i think you are preggers.

THE NURSE CALLED ME BACK!!!
Okay, that was my excitement. The number she gave me is 49.3, and I'm not sure whether to wonder whether that's a good number or to just jump around with happiness. I think I'm just going to jump around for a while. You ladies were SO right, once again.
ETA: I do have to go in Monday for another blood draw to be sure the numbers are doubling as they should be.

I agree with Eleysia, most doctor's have a test that doesn't detect until its at least 100 count.
Sooooooooooooo glad the nurse called you back with those numbers!!!! I can't wait to hear about Monday's draw!!!

Phew! I'm extra relieved now.
That chart helps a bunch Brittanie. Now I'll know if the numbers are normal when I get the ones from next week. Thanks!
Syleena, 8 pee-sticks? Way to come prepared!!! I almost left pissed off last night but the doctor I spoke to was way too nice. He asked me if I tested so early because I could feel the cell divisions happening. I felt like he thought I was making it all up in my head.
