I had a miscarriage in May (we chose to miscarry nautrally) but after after some problems that was not an option and I had to have a D&C done on June 4th. I am feeling much better and I know my body is working towards getting healthy and back to normal again. My question is, my doctor told me to expect a period in about 6 to 8 weeks. And that he would like to see one of my cycles to know how we might go about lengthening the time from when I ovulate to when my period comes again (Luteal Phase) before we try to get pregnant again so that we can determine what is right for me. So in 6-8 weeks when I do get a period, will I have ovulated before that? Or does it just come for the sake of showing up?

Hi Ness, first, allow me to pass my condolences onto you! It's never easy losing a baby!

Second, one can never be too sure that they ovulate after a miscarriage. Whether it was natural or not. So, I'm no help there. I hope AF shows soon for you so you can get back to TTC!

Ness I am sorry for you loss.

I do not know if I personally ovulated that first month.

I do know that it is quite possible to ovulate before you first AF. I have seen more than a few ladies on this board that have gotten pregnant in the month after their miscarriage, prior to their first AF.

Sorry I'm not much help, hopefully some other ladies can answer you question in more detail.
