there is a chart in the package that says if you normally have a 30 day cycle to start using the opk on cd 13. but you know, there are only 7 tests and i read that women usually o later rather than early (if they don't o right in the middle of the cycle.) i just want to make sure i can use the 7 opks during the right time, i don't want the lines to get darker, and then run out before i get a pos. right now i'm on cd 11, should i start on cd 13 like it says, or should i start earlier or later? i've never really used them. i had 1 pack i tried before, but didn't use them everyday like i was supposed to so never got a +.

First off how long is your cycle ?
I am doing OPK first time and I am planning on useing them about 3 days before I useally O but I bought 100 tests online so I can spare to waste a few. I would suggest the 3 days at least before you think you going to O.
If you ereg and have a 2 week window for Oing I suggest buying 2 boxes.

my cycle is normally 30 days. but you know, o time is hard to know since i don't chart or temp. i was just going to try opk and see how that works. i think i might just start on cd13 like the chart says, and hopefully i'll catch a + in those 7 days.

I usually O on CD13 so I start testing on CD10. I buy the internet cheapies so I don't have to stress about running out. I think starting on day 13 for you is a great idea. Good luck!!

Keep testing Linda, it will come up positive soon! I'm stingy with my OPK's 'cause they're so freakin' expensive! This month I used mine as soon as my CM changed.
Good luck catching that egg!

irene- i must have missed your post, but you aren't o-ing? =(
i will keep testing this time. the first time i kept forgetting to test everyday, so i missed my pos. opk. i'm just worried that i will test in the mrning and have a neg, then have my lh surge that night. but by the next day when i test again, the lh will be down and i'll get a neg again. but i don't want to buy another pack cuz they're so $$$, and it's too late to buy off the internet. i need them NOW!

Are you testing in the morning? The best time is supposed to be in the afternoon, like around 2 PM. HTH!

I used to test when I got home from work, about 4-5 pm. I would suggest buying them on the internet at amazon.com or ebay, they are really cheap that way and if you have to waste a couple is no big deal.

My cycle is longer and sometimes funky, so when I last used them, I started on CD 11 and I ended up getting the lh surge on CD 15. Good Luck and KUP!

They aren't that expensive... if you buy them online. earlypregnancytests.com has them pretty cheap (Like 80 cents a piece or something) and they work VERY well.
Dh and I bd'd a couple days before I expected to O and then a few days after...
