I'll try to make this brief, but this really is complicated. Last time I saw my GP she and I spoke about the possibility (as a long shot) of an autoimmune diesease like lupus causing the miscarriages as well as my costochondritis (inflammation of the rib cage cartilage). We decided it was not really necessary to test for it because I didn't have any classic symptoms. Since then, I've developed some classic symptoms like joint stiffness and fatigue. So, I called her and scheduled my autoimmune draw for tomorrow morn. Well, I started thinking I wonder if drawing that much blood would hurt a baby if I was pregnant........So I tested at 10 dpo (assuming I O'd right at 14, which I didn't think I did) Here is what I got.....

I don't even know what to think....my head is spinning....this line is WAY darker than I ever got w/ both of my m/c. I'm excited, but really scared not just about miscarrying again, but also about the possibility of being pregnant and sick w/something else and what that could mean for a baby. At least this explains the fatigue!

Congrats!!!

I am getting results for the Lupin antibody/antiticouaglant tomorrow I hope. They only took 6 vials of blood for the panel and it wont hurt baby I have NO symtoms except m/cing babies in 2nd tri. IF you have it you would need possable blood thinner injects when pg so be sure to get tested. Good luck!

I'm sure you are going through a whirlwind of emotions. I defo belive it is better that you know now that you are pregnant. There is need for more tests, but just because you need the tests, it doesn't mean there is going to be a bad outcome. I'm sure it's hard to calm down, but that is one DARK line for 10dpo. Just take this opportunity to relish in the fact that YOU ARE PREGNANT, GIRL!!! After that, just take it one day at a time. Congratulations!!!! Let us know how the tests go. I'll be praying for ya.

Edited to fix my emoticons (my typing stinks, sometimes)

woohoo Kelleyanne! I'm so excited for you. I would just talk to the dr. You def need to know if you have anything causing the m/c so they can prevent it with this one. Please KUP

Thanks ladies.....of course, my doc isn't in today! I'm sure that I'll still have the draw, but I was hoping they'd throw in a quantitative HCG as well. Irene - what was the turnaround on your test panel? I'm hoping they can hurry, given the situation. I really don't want to lose another one! I am encouraged by the darkness of the line though.

Congrats!! That is a very dark line, especially for 10 dpo! Hopefully they can get your test results back extra quick considering the situation, and if necessary (which, hopefully it's not) the can treat you and take extra precautions with your little bean.

First off I want to say congrats! Secondly getting your blood drawn will not hurt the baby in any way. Depending on the tests they will be running they could be "off" a little with hcg in your system. If they are checking for blood clotting issues your levels will be slightly elevated during pregnancy than what they are not pregnant. I would definitely talk to the dr. about it though and they will be able to explain it better. You may also want them to run a progesterone test too. After you get your blood drawn, you may want to start taking a baby aspirin (81mg) and this will help for Lupus anticoagulant. While you are waiting for the results from those tests it will be an extra preventative step, but you could ask your dr. about that too if you would like. Cant wait to see you on PAL board!

Congrats hun! I hope all goes well with you bloodwork. I wouldn't worry about it hurting the baby, but I would let your doc know you are pregnant ASAP.

Congrats!! I do have lupus, and it is the possible cause for my losses, most definitely my loss at 14 weeks, considering she was fine one week and gone the next. And then I'd talk to your doctor, mine just monitors me closely.
