Hi there, I'm really bad for looking at locations here, but should, it's quite interesting to see how far spread this forum is.

I live in East Goscote, Leicestershire. I've only been here just over a year. I'm American and I'm learning the hard way how the antenatal care is here. I see you're up north. We're headed to North Yorkshire in a few weeks to go camping, somewhere near the coast. Can't wait to get away again!

PS. Your little girl is so cute! I haven't read everything lately, how is your ttc coming along? I really hope you get your bfp soon!!!!!

England is a beautiful country but I would still rather be home in the states. It is very different here. The taxes are outrageous as are NI and the cost of living. I can't believe we pay over £5 for a gallon of gas and we have deisel but at least our car is economical and we don't use it everyday. The history here is amazing and I love it. If I could change anything here...it would be youth crime and accountability for it. Don't get me wrong, I don't judge all youth that way as that wouldn't be fair. I'm happy we live in a safe area.

As for the NHS, I think it sucks. I feel as thought it's a revolving door system, get you out quicker than you got in. I've only had to go in for my knee (jogging injury) and the doctor brushed it off and then had to have my gp listen to my heart and lungs by stethescope as required by my midwife. I asked about expected weight gain and mangagement and he turned it into me just worried about numbers instead of my baby...jerk! Then I just went in yesterday because I've had a red patch on the side of my breast and it's not going away. I'ts not grown or anything and it's not itchy. She said it was a fungal infection and prescribed Daktacort hydrocortisone cream. I asked how you get it and she said IF it is a fungal infection you can pick it up anywhere. I thought...IF????? I asked if it was safe for my pregnancy and she said yes. Well, I decided to read up on it and everything I found about it said to avoid when pregnant!!!! So I called my mw and she told me to call a chemist. Did that and it is on the list to avoid but doesn't say what form. I was in tears and have decided not to use it. I have been applying canasten cream and I'll see how that does.

After everything I've gone through I'm not going to put my baby at any risk not needed. That cream is a catagory C. Crazy!

Other than that, I do like it here. I love that I can walk to town and do my shopping and if I buy too much they will deliver it for free. Ethanael gets to go to play school next year for free compared to having to pay for it in the states. He's really excited. We're close to the park as well and we do have a local shop area, not big but has some take aways, chemist, butchers and a little food store so it's convenient.

Transprotation is pretty good although they drive like maniacs!!!! Price isn't too bad either.

I'm so sorry about your loss hun and really hope you get pregnant as soon as you're given the all clear. And also your brother, how is he doing now? I didn't see what happened, was he hit? No matter, keeping you and your family in prayer.
