It has been 99 days since Cameron's transplant. Tomorrow is the magic "100 days." If a child has a relapse before the 100 days, there is nothing they can do because their bodies are too weak to handle more treatment. I feel like we should celebrate in some way, but I also feel a little foolish for continuing to celebrate milestones that in the end have been meaningless. He has an appointment on Thursday where we'll be talking about getting his broviac (chest IVs) removed. They have been in since November and are always a risk for infection.

I used to be a very religous person, always active in my church. I haven't been to services since Cameron's first relapse in October 2006. My faith has been shaken and I'm not really sure what to do. Our pastor left last month and I don't know the new one so I'm not comfortable talking to him. I feel like I need something more in my life, but my faith has been shaken so badly I don't know where to turn. Sorry for rambling on - it wasn't the original intent of this post.

I think that 100 days is reason to celebrate (even if you just do it quietly by yourself). It's very important. I hope that his appt goes well this week.

YAY for Cam reaching 100 days!!! I am following all his progress through your updates, which I love getting I am glad he is being able to return to some normalcy again...both him and your whole family!

I understand your faith being shaken by all of this. Sometimes I wonder why God is putting us through the challenges we have been through (and they are ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! compared to what you have endured), but I am also a firm believer in things happening for a reason. Who knows where this journey will lead you, Cam, and the rest of your family. Maybe someday you will be able to share your story and inspire other families! Hopefully when Cam is fully healthy again and things are back to normal, you will be able to look back and see some reasoning in all of this!

Congrats again on tomorrow! I think at least something special is in order

Congrats - that is AWESOME! I think a celebration would only be fitting and its not silly at all.

I understand faith being shaken because of chaos in our lives. After my brother's death it took me several years to get things figured out. Take your time and talk to someone...I'm sure you're former pastor wouldn't mind you getting in touch with him.

I'm so glad that Cam is doing so well!
