Because we are dealing with infertility issues my dh and I will start ttc right away. I've always heard that right after you have a baby or right after a miscarriage you are at your most fertile. Since I'm still not sure weather they will be doing a d&c on me, do you know if you're most fertile after a d& c because they clean you out or would just a natural miscarriage make you more fertile? Just wondering I would love to get prenant right away NATURALLY with out spending thousands of more dollars on treatments. Any advise?

The problem is that after a D&C you cannot have sex for 2 weeks or so because you have a high risk of infection hun. i think with a natural m/c you have better chances. either way if your body isnt ready, you wont get pg, and most women dont ovulate that first cycle after a loss

A natural m/c i would say is the one to try right away after, like Eleysia said with a d&c you have to wait before you can DTD. Also you have to wait for you HCG to go back to 0, and then it will prolly be another week before you O if you even do. The first cycle and sometimes the second is really messed up after a loss.

You really shouldn't try right away. Let your body start getting the nutrients back up. Are you taking prenatal vitamins? That will help with the process.

I had a natural miscarriage. I am on my third cycle now and still not pregnant. Although some women are more fertile after a m/c, it doesn't mean all women are. You know?

The best way to get the answer to this question, is to talk to your doctor!

I don't know that there has ever been concrete evidence that you're more fertile after a miscarriage. I think it's one of those old wives' tale things.

Either way, I've known many women who have gone both ways, waited and not. I think it's really up to you either way.

Lots of to you!!

I have had both natural m/c and d&c's. My personal preference was to try and have a natural m/c. I have heard stories of d&c's leaving some scar tissue in the uterus. But I have gotten pg after both...not immediately, though.

With my last loss, I had a lap & d&c in June. With this cycle, for the very first time my lining is "not good". I don't know if that is due to the d&c or other issues. But I would talk to your dr and see what they say.

Sorry I can't give any concrete advice!

Good luck!

It all depends on what your hormones are doing really. I've known several women who have had a miscarriage, and then gotten pregnant without ever having a period in between.

I m/c in Feb naturally and got pregnant in Mar. I m/c again though. I can't really say whether getting preg again right away had anything to do with it though. So, I'm not much help either except to say that it is possible to conceive immediately.

I O'd after my m/c before getting my first period. However, I never got pregnant. Honestly, just check with your doctor. You don't want any infections.

I'm very sorry about your loss.

I am almost certain I O'd beofre my first AF showed up. But I didnt get pregnant. I'm 8 DPO now (first cycle) and I dont think this will be my cycle either.

I've also heard that women are very fertile after a birth or loss because of the extra hormones. I dont know if it is true or if the ones who have gotten pregnant was because of the hormones or because it was just their time.
