Are the hcg levels higher when you are pregnant with twins?

Would a hpt show bfp faster with twins?

Just curious, I really want twins, but please don't tell my husband...

deeeeep relaxing breaths. JK lol. Yes the HCG is higher with twins, which means you can get a BFP earlier, but at the same time you might not. if only one baby implants right off the bat you still will take a few days to get that BFP.

With my loss I didn't get my BFP till the day AF was due and it was really faint. It did get dark quickly over the next two days, though. At my first u/s at 9 1/2 weeks we only saw one sac that measured 6 weeks and my HCG level was over 58,000. A week later the other sac was visible (doc couldn't say why we didn't see it the first time...just that it was a twin pg that failed to develop). I had really suspected twins because I got big so fast...at 6 weeks I had to go buy a belly band because I couldn't close any of my pants...and I was so awfully nauseous. This didn't happen my last pg. So even though I didn't get an earlier BFP I got all the pg symptons ten fold and earlier than my last pg!

With my twins, Hcg levels were higher, but I did not get BFP until day after AF was due. Even then, the line on the test was light for almost a month afterwards. The biggest clue that my body gave that I was carring twins was that I had extreme tiredness, which is common in multiple gestation.

Good luck !!!!

Same with me- higher levels, faint line the day before AF was due but I was huge by 8-8 1/2 weeks and exhausted. (I had grown so fast that I was already starting to get backaches when I had my loss-around the 11th week and people were asking when I was due.) I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers !!! Good luck.

Thanks everyone. I just was curious. Twins run on my side of the family and on my husbands. His Mom has twin sisters. My Dad's side has twins/multiples. My FIL has always told me I would have twins one day. He has said this even before they knew we were TTC.
