many of you know me but for those who dont a quick history. I have been pg 3 times the first ended with an ectopic that ruptured the second 3 months later that ended in miscarrage and 4 weeks after that i found out that i was pregnant with my son. ( i was pg 3 times in 6 months) this all took place in 2005 last year i was treated for cervical cancer and had surgery. now we have been ttc for 13 months. i went in for my 1st infertility appt yesterday and the dr feels that my cervix is scared and with the concern for my tubes being blocked or scared he wants to be sure that they are clear before considering an iui. however, he tried to dialate my cervix yesterday in the office and he couldnt bc it was so painful from the scaring. so he said there is no way he will be able to do the hsg. so he wants to do a laprascopy and and be sure that everything is clear and do a procedure simialr to an hsg while hes in there but he will actually watch the dye spill from my tube. im so torn i dont know what to do. does this seem like hes really doing all he can or does it sound to far....... i really dont know what to think i really wasnt expecting it i thought I would get some meds and go on my way.

help what do you think

Hi Melissa! I remember you clearly

I think it sounds like a really good idea to go through with what your doctor suggested! It could be something relatively easy to correct that may help you get your sticky BFP quickly!

Please KUP (and don't stay gone so long )

Hey Melissa!!!

I agree with going with what the doc suggested. He would suggest it if he didn't feel it wouldn't work.

Keep us updated!!

Meliss, I have to agree with everyone. I think your doc is right in deciding to do this procedure. I know you were expecting an easier fix, but ..... if this is the best method, then id definatly take it hun

I wish you the best luck ever, and hope that this is the answer your body needs to get another healthy BFP

I also agree with the other ladies. I think you should take your doctors advice and go ahead with the procedure but only you can make that decision. I know you were hoping for another option but this may be the best thing for you. You have to do what is right for you. Good luck and and KUP. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi hun, I also think you should take your doctors advice.

I had a laparoscopy (sp?) in 2004 and it was a quick procedure. I didnt have it for the same reason you are though hun, I had it to try and see if there was a reason for my VERY heavy periods. But I was in and out the same day and i had a quick and not too hard recovery. I hope it all goes well, keep us updated

I agree with the ladies. I had a lap done in June and it really wasn't that bad. Sometimes it helps to "flush" out the system anyway....some say that it increases the possibility of getting a BFP after a procedure like this. Could be an old wives tale, but who knows.

I think it makes sense to check everything out - you don't want to spend the $$ on an IUI if the tubes are blocked. Good luck!!
