Why I've Been MIA: The Cliff's Notes

I've been pretty absent for the past month or so, and I wanted to come and tell everybody where I've been because I love and miss you guys!

Here's my brief timeline:

About 3 weeks ago my mom had her uterus removed. Apparently it was stuck to her bladder after her last C-section...9 years ago. I stayed in the hospital with her the whole week while she healed and tormented the medical staff. God put us, of all places, on the maternity floor. I walked past the nursery with mixed feelings every time I left her room.

About a week and a half ago, I went to Detroit for a few days for a sorority conference. I had a blast! I met lots of new people and generally enjoyed myself.

Thursday, when I returned from Detroit, my roommate decided to terminate the lease at the house we all live in, so we had a week to find a new place.

Monday I got a totally unexpected BFP. I was under the impression I couldn't get pregnant until my first cycle after an m/c because that's what happened last time. Boy was I wrong!

Tuesday I went and registered for school and helped my younger sister enroll in college. When I came home, I realized someone had broken into my home and stole my things. My laptop, my stereo, my iPod, my camera...everything (that's why I don't yet have a picture of my BFP for you all)

While I was waiting for the poilice to arrive, though, the leasing agent called about a place BF and I really really wanted. She said we basically have the place even though she's waiting for a message from one last reference.

All in all, I'm happy! Just trying to keep moving through the storm and adjust.

Sorry I've been away! Hopefully I'll be back around more soon.

Geeeeez! Even the Cliff's Notes were long!

First of all CONGRATS ON THE BFP!!

Second, thank god youre back, ive been wondering where you went. I know you needed a break after the last m/c

so i didnt pester you, but thank god ur back now. Can you tell I missed you hunny?

Im so sorry about your things, good thing youre moving huh?? shame they couldnt have broken in the day after you left lol.

I haven't yet slowed down enough to really be excited. Hopefully after the move it'll sink in that I'm pg again.

The lady called this morning. We move in Friday

Thanks!!!
Because I work in the police station, they're going to do the best they can to keep me updated. They came and dusted for fingerprints today. I'm waiting for a call from the detectives who came and took the report last night. My fingers are crossed, but they're just things. I'm trying to keep high spirits about it.

Congrats on the BFP!! Hopefully your mom is doing well.

My house was robbed last year and honestly, it was great. They didn't destroy anything, but I got ALL NEW STUFF!!!!! My laptop and camera had been on their last legs, my tv's were the big old tube tv's. It worked out very well, all things considered. Luckily I had backed up all my pictures, so I didn't really lose anything with much sentimental value. They didn't take any jewelry, so that worked out well. Try not to stress about it - just think of it as a much needed shopping trip (once the insurance $$ comes in).

Tomorrow's the big move in

I'm very excited and relieved to be getting through it all so quickly. I don't think I've ever smiled so big at a UHaul truck

I'll be off work tomorrow and getting situated, so I probably won't be back on until Saturday. That means I'm going to probably post my heart out for then next 6 hours and 15 minutes while I'm at work.
