I am so sorry I haven't been around much. DH & I have put up with so much crap this weekend from the moving company in Phoenix. The owner of the company tried to hold our moving truck for ransom. The truck was suppose to arrive on Friday, the same day that we were moving. However, it didn't get here until Saturday around 5:30pm. The driver of the truck called me and said that he needed gas money. I told him that we were told that we do not pay anything up front. He called his boss, the owner, and he called me and told me that they will not bring us the truck unless we give them $100 in gas and a $50 bus ticket. First of all, it doesn't take $100 to get to Las Vegas from Phoenix in a 35 gallon truck. We told them we would reimburse them for gas AFTER they get to Las Vegas. The driver ended up only putting in $30. So, the owner tried to rip us off and get a $70 profit. He must of thought just because I'm a female, I must be dumb. HAHA yeah right. We also told him that we are not paying $50 for the bus ticket to get back to Phoenix. The company that set up all this moving help automatically adds in a travel fee. For this move, there was a $60 travel fee included. We told him to use that money. That's what it was for. He told me no and they weren't giving us our truck that was in OUR name.

So, I called the Phoenix Police Department and told them what was going on. They told us that what he was doing was illegal. I knew it, I just wanted to be told I was right.

I called the owner back and told him what the Phoenix Police Department told me. He got all defensive and starting yelling at me. I told him if our truck doesn't show up on Saturday, that I was going to report the truck stolen. He continued to yell, so I just ended the call with a F-U.

I am just so sick and tired of Phoenix "customer service"... it's ALWAYS like that there. I am so glad this is over and done with. I gave his company a bad review. Serves him right. You don't treat your customers like crap. I was a mess Friday night. We had to stay in a hotel room because our truck wasn't here when it was suppose to be. It was awful. I had about 2 hours of sleep, if that, on Friday night/Saturday morning.

I've been kind of moody lately, but who can really blame me? Now that we are settled into our new place, I am more relaxed and able to unwind finally.

Now I have a really sore throat. I'm starting to think I'm going to lose my voice tonight or tomorrow. This is going to suck!!!

Oh, that sounds awful!! I'm so sorry you had to deal w/ that! Good for you for calling the Police and finding out what exactly was legal in the whole scenario! And most especially for standing up to that crook and letting him know what recourse his fraudulent actions were going to cause him! So I'm guessing in the end, you got your truck right?

I hope you start to feel better after a few days of rest!

OMG, how awful! I'm sorry to had to deal with all these during the weekend. Good for you to call the Police Department, they can't do that people. I hope you were able to rest and things are better today.

I don't think you should be saying sorry to us, my goodness you've been through a lot! Good for you to not give in to them when they tried to screw you over. We had a similar situation with a used car dealership (go figure)...DH had to talk to them because I just wanted to scream at them. We had to threaten a lawsuit (and I'm really not that type of person) and luckily I am from a legal family and have the connections to really threaten. A well worded letter from my uncle on his office letterhead was all that it took for us. They called and told us our check was in the mail and they never had ANY intentions of not paying us....haha.

What makes me sad is to think about how many people probably DO fall for the scam.

You've had probably the worst moving experience ever! I'm so glad that you are now in your new place and won't have to worry about the "customer service" in Phoenix anymore!

Too bad you cant do more to expose the company for what they did/do to pple.
