Well, my u/s today went poorly. No heartbeat and appears to have stopped growing a few days ago. I'm scheduled for a 10:00 am D&C tomorrow, but will have a confirmation u/s first. I am hoping for a quickish recovery so that I can hopefully salvage some of my vacation. Any thoughts on recovery time.....D&C advice....this is my first.

I'll write more later...right now I'm going to go ride my horse (my kind of therapy).

I'm so sorry for your loss

I just had a d&c on Tuesday...recovery has gone ok...I haven't been bleeding too bad...the pain is tolerable...just crampy like a regular period...just a bit stronger in my back...

If you need anything...feel free to send me a pm...

I'm so sorry for your loss! I don't know anything about D&C procedures or recovery time, but I will definitely keep you in my t&p. Hopefully the rest of your vacation will be able to soothe you some.

Oh Kelly, honey, I'm so sorry. After all that, it seems so unfair.

I wish I could say something that would actually make you feel better.

Kelly..... I am sooo sorry.

My recovery from my D&C's was pretty easy. With my 14w loss I bled on and off for about two weeks. It wasn't heavy though. Just annoying. The other D&C I had was for a polyp and I bled for a day or so.

The D&C itself is not bad at all. It's the emotional part that...as I am sure you know... takes a lot longer. If you need anything.... just say so.

I am sorry that you lost the baby.

I am so sorry Kelly

I had a D&C in November, and it wasn't as bad (physically) as I had anticipated. I will keep you in my T&Ps.

i'm so sorry, i was hoping things were ok w/ you. i had a d&c in march, and i couldn't even tell i had anything done when i woke up. i bled for a little bit after (like a light period) for maybe a week. it wasn't bad at all physically. very easy on the body. emotionally though, that's different. i hope things go ok for you so you can recover soon. i'm so sorry.

I am so very sorry

I have had 3 d&c and like the girls have said the recovery is not to bad.. Emotionally is a differnt story ((hugs))

I noticed my last 2 d&c that about 10 days later I had sore uteran area it was as if my uteras did tons of sit ups NOT my stomache muscles but the uteras itself. That was odd but it went away shortly.

I wish you a swift recovery and again I am so sorry.

Thanks everyone. Initially, we were planning to wait until Monday to have another u/s and D&C on Tues....but once I thought about it I just felt so depressed about losing my baby and my much awaited family vacation. I just really need some closure since this has been going on for so long. Even the grief feels different than if it had have been a sudden surprise to see no hb....not that I wasn't hopeful because I definitely was after last weeks great appointment, but it still feels different. I think most of the grief for me will come with sorting out my feelings about where to go from here...but I'm trying not to think about that too much right now because I figure I've got plenty of time to deal with all of that. I'm certainly in no hurry to go through this again . I'm glad to hear most of you say that the recovery isn't too bad. I'm hoping to lay low for a couple of days and then leave for the lake (I can't go in, I know ). I've never had any kind of surgery before or any anesthesia so I'm kinda scared, but I think that I'm even more scared to m/c naturally this far along.

I will update after surgery...but then I'll be MIA for awhile, not sure how long. Take care everyone and thanks again for your kind words.

No, NO ,NO, not antother loss!!! I'm so sorry hun, I've been following your journey and I was so full of hope for you guys. I'm glad you're going to be getting away for a vacation, not that that makes it easier.

I had a D&C with my loss and due to the weight I was back then, they had a hard time waking me. Other than that, recovery was fairly quick and the bleeding wasn't too bad.

I pray for a speedy recovery and I'm so sorry.

Oh Kelly, I am so sorry to hear the news
I have never experienced a D&C but hope that like the other ladies your recovery time is short and you will be able to try and enjoy your family vacation.
