So my SIL Missa had a chemical pregnancy in June.. never went to the Dr. for it because it was so early and all.. I told her it didnt make a difference and if she felt ready to go ahead and try to get pregnant right away.. so they tried and they did.. (super fertile couple, not fair, another topic) ..

She just went in for her first Apt yesterday... and told the Dr.s that she had a chemical and then got pregnant with this one.. ( she is 7weeks and 4days if you didnt notice it in my siggie) And the Dr. told her that she is really lucky that this one stuck because its more likely to miscarry again if you get pregnant right after a chemical pregnancy....????? i think thats a bunch of bull crap... but maybe im wrong.. I would think if your body wasnt ready after a chemical it wouldnt even Ovulate...

Did any of you have your dr.s tell you to wait ... or tell you you might miscarry if you got pregnant right after a chemical pregnancy???

Hmm Im with you.. the BS flag just went up! I dont buy it at all. I didnt have a chem either time, but I agree if your body was not ready you would either not Ovulate, or just m/c again.

I think this goes with some docs saying to wait 3 months after a first tri loss, and some saying you can try after your first cycle. I think it is all the doc's prefrence. Sorry hun

I think that they look at a chemical pregnancy a bit different than a miscarriage even at 5 or 6 weeks. I have never been told I needed to wait, and have always tried again immediately.

mine have never told me to wait to ttc.
the only reason i had to wait was because of 3 losses in 6 months so i needed to give my mind and body a chance to recover

Honestly, I'd be finding a new doctor.

Any doctor that would just come out and say, "you will miscarry", has no reason to do my check ups anymore.

I think that if your body ovulates, then it's ready to TTC again. That's just my opinion. I have a hard time trusting doctors as it is though.

I had a chemical pregancy in March, But I did call my doctor about it (I wanted them to have it in my file and I am also a Neg Rh blood type) But I was given the go ahead to TTC right away if I wanted to.

I think it's B.S. too. I'd definitely be finding a new doc!

I def think thats BS! I've had different dr's tell me different things too, so it prolly just depends on the dr.

yeh i totally thought that it was probably because different Dr.s tell you different things too.. Some say wait 1 cycle after a miscarriage and others say 3 cycles... But waiting for the cycle is mostly for dating purposes anyhow! not because you will most likely miscarry again! and thats after a normal miscarriage.. not even a chemical loss... Its my understanding that a chemical loss is when you are pregnant but the baby doesnt implant and you end up getting your period (aka losing the baby) right at your normal time or shortly there after... and that your body goes back to normal very quickly, and getting pregnant right after shouldnt have any effect what so ever on that pregnancy..

I told my SIL that i thought the Dr. was wrong.. but that i was very happy that this baby was sticking! and just left it that.. she doesnt have to worry about it any more than that... We dont even have the option of getting a different Dr. anyhow.. (rural area) Other wise she would have already because they wouldnt even make an apt for her until she'd told them she'd taken a first responce or an EPT test.. which is SO retarted..
