I had my appointment with my new doctor today. Unfortunately I really liked him. I say unfortunately because I won't be seeing him again. He doesn't really think that Clomid or any medicine alone is going to work for us, so instead of wasting time he referred me on to an RE, with the recommendation that we do an IUI! I'm shocked in a way. I really thought we would have at least a few months of Clomid and what not, but if it isn't going to work, I guess this is best.

We see the RE on September the 5th for an initial consultation and for DH to have his SA done. AF would be due sometime between then and the 7th, (if I have a normal cycle) so depending on how quickly the doctor wants to move, we could be starting IUI as early as the next cycle!

That is so wonderful that your doctor decided not to waste time on something that wouldn't have worked.

Exciteing news that you may be taking that first step next cycle!!!!

Thanks ladies! I hope I don't offend people (not sure what everyone's religious beliefs are) but I really believe this only happened because of all the prayers asking God to guide the doctor to the right path for us. From what I can tell it's really unusual for a doctor to just instantly refer you on to an RE for IUI without at least trying a few things first.

He stressed the chance of twins to us (because he is recommending IUI w/Clomid and a trigger) which actually thrills us both. He also said that they will be monitoring us closely to make sure we don't end up with a large number of multiples (Like in the case of Jon and Kate from the show Jon and Kate plus 8). We talked about that even and decided that if God decided to give us a situation like that, while not ideal, we would take whatever God decides to give us.

Did he do any of the blood test to try and figure out why you keep having the losses? My dr did a million blood test and an HSG and they did blood work on DH too. Then she sent me to the RE after every test was normal and mine were considered unexplained losses. Good luck though girl i hope everything goes well! And pretty soon you will get that sticky BFP!

He agreed with what I kind of thought and said he thinks it's a combination of low progesterone levels and PCOS. He ordered tons of bloodwork, some was done yesterday, some for CD 3 and some for 7 days after ovulation (if I ovulate this cycle). He said that this would help things move a bit more quickly once I get into the RE. He wasn't going to order an ultrasound for confirming the PCOS yet though because he said that the RE would want one right away anyway and there was no reason to make me pay for two when they could just do it all at once. I really was grateful that he was trying so hard to help save as much money as possible. We told him that this was probably all coming out of our pockets since we've been told that our insurance won't cover anything to do with infertility.

Well thats great hes saving your money! We were supposed to do out IUI in July but decided against it cause it wasn't the right time. I'm excited to see how yours goes, so maybe it will help my decision in doing in. Good luck girl and i hope in 9 months you'll be holding a beautiful baby! or 2 lol

I'm glad your doc is moving so fast with everything and he sounds like he knows what he's talking about. I agree with you, God will give you what you can handle. Good luck!
