I saw that this morning. I want to know how to set it up so eHarmony doesn't have any of my information.

As long as there isn't going to be any sort of drastic changes, it doesn't bother me. If it's better for the website overall, so be it.

I will assure you that we care very much about your privacy. Justmommies does not collect very much personal information in the first place. I am copying and pasting the section from our privacy policy so you can see what information we collect. We don't collect first or last names, we don't collect addresses, we don't collect credit card information, the only things we really collect are your email address and your user name (and other information such as IP address and browser that you use). Statistic information is not used for anything other than us being able to track how much traffic we get to the site, etc.

From our privacy policy...
When you register to use the forums at Justmommies we collect your email address and member name. We will use this to contact you periodically to announce site updates or if there is a violation of our terms of service. You will also have the option to fill out a profile. You can provide information such as your location, birthdate, instant messenger information or personal information about yourself. Justmommies also collects standard information for gathering statistics about your IP address, the browser you are using, the operating system on your computer, the site referring you to Justmommies and the time you visited.

Under the terms of Justmommies' privacy policy, you may choose to opt-out and have your personally identifiable information removed from the Justmommies database by simply replying to the email and saying in the body of your email that you want to be removed from the Justmommies database. In that event, we will discontinue your account on justmommies.com and remove the account information from our database.

I think its great that they sold it, they have worked hard to make JM what it is and they deserve it! I'm totally fine with it as long as nothing chages(i.e like getting charged, or taking away fourms) I know Patty and Teresa are going to continue moderating the forum as with all the other mods on here. Really i don't think they would have sold it if eharmony would change everything!

Anyway Congrats to them!

Hmmmm I dunno how I feel about this really. Are they gonna have moonlit beaches and smiling mommy commercials now?? Or maybe they can do one about grieving and loss?? I guess im just being moody, i dont care as long as they dont mess it up i suppose.

that's kind of freaky, in a way. I know there are some strange people on a lot of the dating sites and hope that these two entities will be kept completely separate, simply bound by financial ties. They're not going to start putting links up on EHarmony to JM, are they? I would really hate to think of some of those people trolling around on this site, looking at our pictures, etc. One of the reasons I like JM so much is that it is a bunch of cool women and I don't have to worry about unwanted attention, if you know what I mean.

I'll go read the rest of that other thread and see if anyone else asked the same question.

Well, either way... it's kind of crap that if we don't like our personal information being given to eHarmony that we have to leave the site. I know there are other mommy sites out there, but people here are just more friendlier. Oh well. Money talks.
