I too was in the march ddc. we had ttc for 8 cycles and my dr. put me on clomid. i got pregnant but at 8 weeks they couldn't find anything in the gestational sac. it appeared that the baby stopped growing at 5 weeks. so just like Christina, i'm scheduled for a D&C tomorrow.
I am leaving on vacation on Friday morning, to return on Labor Day. but I wanted to introduce myself. I am very comforted being around ladies who have been through what i'm currently going through.
If you've had a d&c could you tell me about your experience? and how long did you take to ttc again after the d&c?
thanks much ladies!!! i look forward to getting to know some of you. some names i already recognize!! i'm sorry for all your losses. this is so horribly hard. my other children are wondering why moms so sad. i don't know what to tell them. i'm just trying to stay strong around them. but it's so hard!!!

I'm so sorry for your loss, Lynda. The actual D&C wasn't that bad because your asleep for it, you have some cramping after but they give you pain meds. You'll probably bleed for a week or two also. Alot of times you can start TTC right away, in my situation they found molar tissue so i had to wait for a bit. ((HUGS)) Sorry you have to join but we are all here for you, hun!

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. i had a d&c July 6 of this year, loss baby at 14 week. 3 weeks later had to have a d&c for excessive bleeding. I had mininal pain and bleed for 2 weeks. Doc told we would could start trying to conceive after I had my first cycle after the d&c which was 4 weeks and 5 days after it.
G/L tomorrow I hope that everything goes well and you recover fast.
Hugs

Aww Lynda,
I'm so sorry for your loss...its such a heartbreaking experience. Life really sucks sometimes!
Good on you for trying to be strong. You are right your other kids need you but you also need to grieve so make sure you make time for you and meet your needs too.
Take care!

Lynda. I'm so sorry for your loss. I remember you from the ttc board. I haven't had a D&C so I don't really know anything about them but I wanted to let you know that I will be thinking about you. I hope everything goes smoothly and you have a speedy recovery and you are able to have a wonderful vacation. KUP and welcome to the board.

Hi Lynda. I am so sorry for your loss. I had a D&C on July 26, and I was told to wait one cycle to TTC again. They put me out for the procedure, so I didn't feel a thing. When I woke up, I had some heavy bleeding and and some cramps for the next few days, but nothing worse than period cramps. They gave me a prescription for pain meds but I never filled it. My D&C was to remove afterbirth, so I'm not sure if that changes the recovery at all. My T&P's are with you. ((HUGS))

I lost my first baby Sept. 18th of last year. I was 8 weeks 4 days and had already seen the heartbeat. I had a small amount of brown bleeding that stopped but decided to go to E.R. anyway. That's when we found out our little one had no heartbeat and I was scheduled for a d and c on Sept. 20th. It was not bad at all. I took off work the rest of the week because of emotional issues not because of the pain. I did have cramping almost like contractions I'm sure. But the reason for that was because they didn't get all the "tissue" About a month later I had to have a repeat d and c. (Which is extremely rare) So anyway...after the 2nd d and c which was Oct. 20th we waited until December to try again and we found out we were pregnant Jan. 7th. We are expecting our little boy in the next 3-4 weeks. I'm sorry for your loss. I wish I could say it goes away but I still think of my little one that I lost. Good luck to you.

I'm sorry Lynda. Everyone here is extremely helpful and supportive. Infact, it is because of the ladies here that I think I have done as good as I have after our loss.
I didnt plan on having a D&C. I planned on just letting it happen nautrally. I still thought there was a possibilty that I wasnt as far along as they thought I was. I also had a fear of having a D&C because I was afraid of future problems. I also thought if I did it nautraully that I would be back to TTC much sooner. They said it could take two weeks to happen. 12 days later nothing had happened yet I called the doctors office because I was concerned but they didnt get back to me that night. That night I started cramping and bleeding. By the next morning I was very sick feeling. I was cramping and (TMI) the bleeding was like nothing I have ever seen before in my life. The doctors office called back and told me to go to the ER. I didnt want to. So they had me come in to their office. I went in and they said I needed to have a D&C immediately. So I went from there to the hospital and was in surgery in less than an hour. They said I was hemoraging. After the D&C I woke up and felt much better, physically. I bled for two or three days. Then spotted for about 2. I felt fine. About 8 days later I "thought" I was having O pains. About 13 or 14 days later my first (21 days after D&C) AF showed up. I had more cramping with this AF than normally. The flow was heavier (but not concerning) and I think it lasted a day longer than normal. I feel that I was fortunate that I didnt have to wait as long as some other women have had to wait. I guess it just shows that each persons body is different than the next.

Lynda, I'm so sorry for your loss! Welcome to TTCAL. I absolutely hate welcoming new people, because I just hate that more people have to join us at all! But..... the ladies here are so wonderful, and I hope you make yourself at home. Good luck with your D&C, my experience was pretty quick and painless, and I hope you have a nice vacation!!
