I had a D&C yesterday (although I started to miscarry on my own early that morning)....Dr said I could start TTC after one period. However, I've read waiting 2 months might be better as it would give more time for your uterus to heal. Although I want to start to TTC immediately, I'd MUCH rather wait one more month if it even slightly lessened my changes of another m/c.

Just curious how long your Dr's told you to wait after a m/c or D&C?

I lost our first baby Sept. 18th. Had a d and c on the 20th. Then I had to go back Oct. 20 because they left tissue. I had a normal period in November. Then my normal period Dec. 15 and we tried after that cycle and ended up pregnant. We found out Jan. 7th. I'm 37 weeks pregnant now. We were told to wait 3 cycles. I cheated and counted it from Sept. instead of Oct. I think you have to do what feels right to you. If you don't feel comfortable waiting just one cycle then wait until you are comfortable. Good luck and I'm sorry for you loss!

Thanks. And congrats on your pregnancy! I just made my follow up appt for September 8th (my first anniversary! Not how I wanted to celebrate lol), so I will talk to him them. I may chart a cycle after that to see if my cycles have changed since before being pregnant, then maybe start trying.

Congrats on your first anniversary. My husband I just celebrated our 1st on August 3rd. We didn't really get to celebrate but next year we are planning a trip to San Diego. (It's special to us because he was stationed there for 3 months before going to Iraq for a year and I'd go visit him) Was your loss your first pregnancy? Were you trying or did it just happen?

I haven't had a D&C, but I've seen and read on several Google searches that some wait 1 cycle, and some wait 2 or 3. Whatever you decide to do. I do agree though, waiting that extra cycle could be the defining factor of a sticky bean.

Congrats to you too. Yes it was our first pregnancy and we were trying...he wanted to wait a year before TTC, I talked him down to 9 months But it happened pretty quick (I charted for 3 months and got pregnant on the 3rd, but our BD timing wasn't great on the first two, so once we got the timing down, it happened that time), so hopefully once we start TTC again, it will happen quick

Hi Christine!

Sorry about your loss. I just wanted to tell you that my doctor told me to wait only 1 cycle after my D&C, mostly to allow the tissue to fully heal. We started trying after 1 cycle, but have since found out we have other fertility issues.

I hope you heal quickly and get your sticky BFP soon!
