Is there anyone in your life that you consider a hero? If so, who is it and why?

One of my *boyfriends* growing up...we were boyfriend and girlfriend off and on all through middle school...he always talked about joining the Marine Corp like his uncle...he was killed in Fallujah Iraq in April '04 at 19 years of age...

K this is going to sound lame but my little sister is my hero. I just hold her to the highest standards of a human being. She is beautiful inside and out. She has gone through alot in her 20 years and she still comes out smiling, i wish i could exude even half of the forgivness she has for people that have done her wrong. She is such a kindhearted person.

My grandmother. She battled cancer at age 80 (and won) after chemo and radiation. Then 2 years later, she gets hit by a car and almost lost her leg (they were able to reattach), and she's getting around on her own now (with a cane mostly). Then a year later, she lost my grandfather this past October after 58 years of marriage. I seriously don't know how she goes on, she is one strong lady!

Not to be selfish but i'm going to say i'm my own personal hero. Only because i have been through so much in life and i am shocked that i have turned out to be the person i am today. A mother and wife, i was a pretty bad drug addict my whole teen age years, and it was very hard for me to quit, but i did and soon after that i met DH and he really saved me from slipping back into the drug world. I've been raped, i've been a druggie and a drunk and i'm lost 3 babies, sometimes life isn't fair but somehow i always find the straight to fight through it and make it back to sanity.
