I have not had a D&C, so I am sorry I can't help you much. but bleeding for two weeks after a D&C does seem like a long time. Can you call your DR to make sure that is normal. They may want to do the check-up earlier if you suspect problems.

Lynda,
I remember you from the other board. I think we were in the same situation. From everyone I have spoken to having a D&C reduces the bleed time. I didn't have a D&C, but my doc and I discussed it. He said it would be like a normal period. I would assume a week or less. Is it still heavy or is it light spotting? I would definately call your doc. They may have missed some tissue. Better safe than sorry, especially if you are going to try again. I miscarried naturally and have stopped bleeding. I stopped at 9 days. Call your doc just to double check.

Mine "technically" took nearly 2 weeks to stop, but it was VERY light the entire time. Only the first day or two after the surgery were like a period. It wasn't very consistent either....it would slow, stop, then start again. If you are just spotting it is probably normal, but if you are still bleeding enough to be concerned, it wouldn't hurt to call the doc.

When I had my D&C it took a week and a half to go down to just spotting. I hope it goes away or at least slows down for you soon.

Hey Lynda,

Do you have a follow up appointment anytime soon? Depending on how heavy it is, you should probably call them about it. If it's spotting I wouldn't worry so much though. But it never hurts to call!

Hi - I have had 2. With my first one, I bled for just a couple days and that was pretty much it. My last one (which was done at the same time as a lap and a tube removal for ectopic) I didn't bleed - I leaked for about 2 weeks. I wouldn't even call it spotting - I called it leaking. Not enough for a pad, but a panty liner. If you are bleeding, call your dr. if you are spotting, you may want to wait a few more days and then call if it doesn't stop. Good luck

thanks ladies, it REALLY slowed down today. I was on vacation last week, got home last night and we were very very busy going to the disney parks so i might have over done it a bit. but now that we're home, it's gone down to just spotting. i'm going to call tomorrow anyway just to ask. i have a follow up sept 16th so hopefully i won't have to move it up.

here's to hoping it stops SOON!!!

I bled for 2 or 3 days not very heavy. Then spotted for a couple and that was it.

Maybe it could be from being very active on your trip? Hopefully it stops soon.

When I had my d&c I notice that when I went back to work (whick it was two day after) I started bleeding more, the more activity I did the more I was bleeding, so probably I was bleeding for about a week or so and them I had spotting.
