So you've had miscarriage and you finally get pregnant and are soooooooooooooooo excited and SCARED. It stinks that everyone assumes you already know everything about pregnancy. You don't get to see the doc until your 6-8 weeks along but in the meantime they don't say ok if you have x,y,z call the office right away. Nope just congrats lets make an appointment. So I worry about the cramping, end up with fever and they say it really isn't a fever, tell them about feeling hot and miserable and that is "normal". Ok if you don't want me calling everday with a new symptom tell me what the hell I need to be worried about. I have three baby books and they scare the hell out of me.

Oh yes they tell you to take prenatal but don't say by the way the first trimester is soooooooooooooooooo important and your prenatal has the essential vitamins in it to help form your babies spine and heart and other vital areas. I've always taken it but Lordy I know others would make sure if that had that vital bit of information. Then I join the gym, my family doc clears me and tells me no ab exercises or dancing,etc...for falling. So I've done everything else including lifting weights. Not tooooooo heavy but turns out heavier than what they want. Again something that would be uself prior to doing it.

I know I'm on the only one scared, anxious, confused, and worried that if I do something wrong I'll cause a miscarriage.....as crazy as that sounds.

It's like that for all appointments in pregnancy though.

I don't mind, because by time 6-8 weeks approaches, I can get an ultrasound. It does suck to wait that long. It seems like forever. But, you're already 4 weeks or more when you find out you're pregnant, so you don't have to wait that long.

You will feel hot, dizzy, light headed, etc though. It's typical.

Just try not to stress about anything. You will be fine.

Hmm I dont know.

After my first m/c with my dr she seen me the day after every BFP for a round of beta's and caught 2 more pending m/c that way.

I also have first u/s at 8w. She wants them that far along so that if a b/o or something it will be evident by then. By the way mine just a family Dr not a specialest or anything.

Call your dr and least get some beta's run to eae your mind till first u/s and visit.

Ever Dr's office is like that, usually if you see an RE they will watch you more closely. I know when i had my m/c in December i got pregnant right away and i called and told them my concerns about loosing the baby again and they wouldn't see me until almost 9 weeks. I never made it that far but its normal. They will not really see you unless there is a problem. Now if you have had 2 or 3 losses in a row they will do betas and follow you more closely but not for just one loss. Because m/c is actually more common than you think with your first pregnancy.

I agree, it does suck to wait as long, but I think they do it for our benefit more than anything. Say for example, you find out right at 4 weeks that you're expecting, and the doc sets something up for the following week, and you go for an ultrasound. Chances of you seeing anything are slim, and you'll be stressing about it until your next appointment.

If they see you when you're 6-8 weeks, chances are you'll see or hear the heartbeat, and see something on the screen.

Hope I helped!

I agree, it's definitely stressful! But it is normal, and like everyone else has said, when they wait that long it just means that there is more to see and cover at your first appointment. When I get my BFP, I think I'm waiting until 30 weeks to go in because I started bleeding with both of my m/c the first time I went to see the doctor (I'm only kidding, I'm sure that was only a coincidence!)

I understand completely, my situation is a lil different. I started the clomid and the day he prescribed me the clomid he made me get a 3 month appointment and he said that if it doesnt work first round (but he has high hopes) then he will see me in 3 months. 3 months!!! that is eternity!!!!!

I dont want to see my doctor. Love'em dearly! But he is the last person I want to see. I dont want to be poked or prodded or wear paper gowns. If it was up to me, I would wait til I was in my second trimester to go in.
