I was looking below my chart this morning and noticed it says this-

If you conceived this cycle your due date would be:
06/08/2009

When I put my last AF (first day) into a due date calculator I get June 12 as the due date.

I assume it's because I ovulate sooner than average, right? That's why they give me an earlier date?

What should someone go by if they ovulate earlier? The earlier due date would be more accurate- no? But would a DR be more likely to go by AF?

I know it's only a 4 days difference.. but 4 days makes a difference!

Julia - I would go by your early EDD.

With my last pg, I told my DR, that my cycles weren't normal length, that I O late, and have a 30-31 day cycle, and he adjusted my EDD for me.

I hope you catch your eggie this month!! good luck!!

In all honesty, my Dr. does an ultrasound around 8-10 weeks and by those measurements sets the date. (which would mean that ovulation was the more accurate date). He doesn't like going by AF at all, and says that's the least accurate way to set it. Go by your ovulation, although, before 8 weeks or so they will probably use your AF just because it's easier that way. I went by my O date with Erin and it was exactly on for the ultrasounds the entire pregnancy. ((This one...I wasn't so sure about O dates....))

Ok, thanks ladies I think I would go by my O date.
Unfortunately, my practice doesn't do early ultrasounds. I had been told I would only get 1 ultrasound, halfway through (around 20 weeks or so?).. now, I don't know if they maybe do an extra one or something when you've had a previous loss ::

But, I wonder if I were to just print my chart out and bring it with me the first appointment, if they would go by that instead! I think my O date would just be more accurate. 4 days is 4 days, right

Yes, 4 days is 4 days. I totally agree with that. lol. (coming from a woman who had her EDD moved BACK 3 days from Feb. 27 to March 2)

Taking your chart wouldn't be a bad idea.

Also, it doesn't hurt to *ask* for an early u/s. Tell them you're anxious (because you will be) and you just want some reassurance/peace of mind. Hopefully they'll do that for you.

Loads of for you!!

I am so bad with due dates, haha, but I agree with Brittanie about asking for an early u/s. I know the office I go to doesn't usually give them, but even with my very first loss I had some concerns so they scheduled one for me.

I ovulate late, so I had the same issue when I was pregnant in June. Going by my last AF my EDD was March 17th...but I knew I O'd on CD17, so it was more accurate to be March 20th...When I went to the OB initially they just tell you your EDD from LMP. But I assumed when I had an u/s they would give me a more accurate date.
