I think some doctors forget that we are paying them !!! I know my doctor would have no problem in it if I really wanted to do it. but then again I have had my doctor for over 16 years .I would of put my foot down and Said I want it done. I am like you I could not wait and it would drive my crazy.

If you are going to be 5 weeks 1 day at the ultra sound they might not. Maybe you should ask to reschedule for the following week or even 2 weeks? Then you would see something for sure.

I agree they should do the blood work. That's just silly.

Bloody NHS!!! I hate the system. I would do what Princess Kate did and see what happens, especially since you just suffered a loss. I asked about it when I first found out I was pregnant and they said they don't draw blood for numbers.

rediculous, all we want is reassurance.

I miss my American private insurance, always felt taken care of. Here, they do nothing and it scares the life out of me if one of my children get hurt.

You can always go to the ER with "cramping"
As far as seeing anything on ultrasound that early, I wouldn't get my hopes up. You may be able to see a gestational sac and maybe a yolk sac but I doubt you'll see much more than that.

Kat I would have thought they would have wanted to do your betas because of your precious ectopics. My doctor told me he was glad i requested them as HCG is a good indicator to whether it could be ectopic or not, since ectopic doesnt double. I would deffo go see your gp. The NHS sucks

Sorry she won't let you come in this early, but I can understand why. I think it will be easier to watch your beta's rise at that point. What if you go in tomorrow and your beta's are "low", and then that ends up stressing you out too much??

This week will go by quickly for you. Don't even think about your doctor.

Can you go to that doctor that you had for 16years and ask him about doing your Betas? He would know about all the previous losses and since he/she knows you, might be more willing to get you in for a blood test.
When I was pg with the m/c I was back home in Spain and the doctor's there would not do a blood test either, just a urine test to confirm and that was actually the private insurance.

What's NHS?

yeh i agree with Jessica on not going to the doctor...im just gonna wait it out...i dont wannt to annoy the MW by going behind her back KWIM? shes the one whos hopefully going to care for me the next few months...il just have to keep testing at home and if anything happens this week il just call her back

Oh and ive already booked this weekend of work...i cant face telling them all i cant do this, cant do that, until ive had an U/S

Sorry things aren't going your way!!! You could always head to the ER, or see your regular doctor instead (like the other girls said), try not to worry though, it won't make it any easier on you if you stress.

Sounds like you have thought things through and you have a plan. I don't blame you either. We do see the same midwife and it would be awkward.

No matter what though, you and baby are what matters and not worrying about stepping on your mw's toes.

I'm glad you are taking the weekend off!!!
