Hello, My name is Tabitha. I was due May 16th 2009 and last Wednesday I was walking down the hall at work and felt a small gush---I went to the bathroom and I had blood down the inside of my pants. My doctor had me come in right away and my cervix was still closed but he called it a threatened miscarriage. My blood was drawn at the clinic to check my Hcg levels and he wanted me to stop at the hospital lab Friday for another blood draw. He sent me a home with a bottle w/saline in it to collect any tissue so we could have it tested. I was able to collect a piece of tissue the size of a 50cent piece. I did not lose any more tissue than that--I was very anal in checking every time I went to the bathroom. He called me Friday afternoon and said my levels had dropped from 2800 to 500. I bled from Wed-Monday and it was comparable to a light period. No cramping at all. My doctor called today and said the tissue I passed was not embryo or placenta. I have to go to the clinic today to have another blood draw to make sure my numbers have dropped more. I was really hoping that I was all done with this, but now there is a chance I have not expelled all the tissue and may need a D&C. He said it could have also possibly been a blighted ovum. Has anyone experienced anything similar to this?

I had a Blight Ovum in Jan 07. I found out because I went in for an ultra sound and there was only a sack and nothing inside. I had two ultra sounds to make sure it wasnt just to early to see anything. I chose to m/c naturally and about 3 weeks later I did and there was a couple of clots that I passed. I had to have my levels checked to make sure that they were going down and when they checked my cervix before I m/c it was closed to. I want to say that I am so sorry for your loss.

I had a bligt ovum August of 2007. I went in at around 6 weeks for an ultrasound and was told the sac was measuring extrememly small and was more than likely going to be an unsucessful pregnancy. They scheduled me to come back in a week to check the progression. A week later, I started bleeding along with cramping and passed several clots and tissue. I never did have the tissue tested, however, it was diagnosed as a bligh ovum. I had 2 follow up ultrasounds to make sure all is fine.

I don't have any personal experience with a blighted ovum, I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am for your loss. I'm sorry you have to go through this.

I had a blighted ovum this May. I was 7 weeks pregnant and had some light spotting. I went in for an ultrasound and there was nothing but a sac. My levels were ok and rising but not doubling. They thought maybe I o'd late. So I went the next week for another u/s still nothing. Levels still rising but not doubling. And finally at 9 weeks and 3 days I was dx with a blighted ovum. I ended up having a d&c.

I wanted to add I am so sorry for what you are going through.
