I do NOT want to get pregnant this cycle. It's killing me to skip it and waste a month, but the nurse said to wait, so we're waiting. However there was a maybe oops. We're pretty sure we're ok, but not sure and now I'm worried about what might happen if we do get pg. Does anyone know what the dangers are of getting pg the first cycle after a m/c? I'm mildly freaking out...

Well, firstly, the doctor won't know how to properly date the pregnancy since you didn't have an actual full cycle following the m/c.

Also...your uterus hasn't healed properly, and hasn't had time to build a good lining.

I'm sorry this is so short, but I have heard of ladies who HAVE gotten pregnant the 1st cycle, and have gone on to have their baby.

Jo,

I wouldn't stress out about it too much. There are lots of instances of women getting pregnant right away and having healthy babies. Like Jessica said, they mostly want to date your cycle and make sure everything is back on track.

Ok, good. That makes me feel better. Almost good enough to actually try, but I think I'll restrain myself. Thanks, ladies!

Don't stress out too much. Mostly doctors just want to date your pregnancy before they have to do an ultrasound. Some people believe that if you get pregnant right after a loss your body is in better shape to carry the pregnancy. It's possible that you didn't even ovulate this cycle. I hope everything works out for you!!!
