offer to take my niece trick-or-treating??

Alright, so here's the story. My sister is working on Halloween. She Will Not take it off. She Doesn't think her daughter 'needs' to go trick or treating, it's no big deal. Her daughter is 17 months. So really, this is her First Halloween that she can actually dress up and kinda 'know' what's going on You know?? I asked if her boyfriend is going to take her - nope. He might take her to his parents house, but that's it. I know I'd like to see my niece dressed up on Halloween and so would our parents/aunts/grandparents, you know?? Do you think it would be out of line or judgey to ask if I could take her?? I don't want to step on toes, but I think my niece would have soo much fun!

Are you taking your daughter? Maybe if you said in nonchalantly like "Oh well I'd be happy to take her along with Mattea if you'd like." And see where that goes.
I wouldn't push past that though.
This is coming from someone who detests other people being in her business and judging how she should run her marriage and life (I'm not saying you are doing that to her...just how she might take it if you go any further than something like the above mentioned).

Yea, I am taking my daughter. She's 19 months and I'm super excited I mean, we're just going to the family and she can't eat candy... but still. lol It will be fun. I think I will just suggest it like that. I just hate to see zoey and my family miss out on it.

I agree, I'd bring it up non-chalantly. My DD was 23 months old her first time actually trick or treating, and we only went to a few houses, but she LOVED it.

I don't think it would be out of line. You can even pass it off as offering to do her a favor, and then if she says it's no big deal or starts to seem offended, just drop it
