I meant to update you ladies earlier, but I just haven't been in the mood. I've been in a crappy mood for the past couple of months. My apologies to anyone and everyone if I have offended anyone lately. Those were totally not my intentions.
We moved to Las Vegas August 1st of this year after hubby got a promotion. We moved to (what we thought) a nice apartment complex. Since day one, we have had to deal with really loud music from our neighbor and the constant sound of bass from other neighbors and their friends. It's non stop noise here. I hate coming home from work because of it. It's hard to get any sleep. Our neighbor confronted us once about the notices and said, "well that's just the type of community you live in...." Umm, that's nice. Don't be such a disrespectful hag. It's funny because this chick has a mustache. I wanted to tell her to go shave, but figured that was a bit too mean.
And then a few nights ago, she came over banging on our door talking crap. Something about wanting to punch me in the face?! I have no idea why. We haven't had a problem with her music being too loud in a couple of weeks. So, I'm not sure what enticed her to come over and bang on my door talking smack at 8:45pm. I did call the police about it though. Of course, the management will do nothing about the current issues going on. I do not feel safe here at all.
I am very thankful I am not currently pregnant while living here. I definitely would not want to be pregnant or even raise a child in this neighborhood. We didn't know that this side of town was bad. We didn't know anyone in Las Vegas. We picked out a new apartment complex and we're moving in next Saturday.
We get to break our lease for free since the complex is not enforcing the lease. It's just really unfortunate that we are being inconvenienced with moving just because other people can't be respectful. We are moving to a 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment. I wish we had the down payment for a house already. Wishful thinking.
Heath & I decided that we were going to "skip" this month of baby making. We're not preventing, but we're not trying this cycle. If something happens from this cycle, wonderful. If not, no big deal. I can't deal with the stress of this place, packing, and then unpacking. Maybe once we get all moved out of this bad neighborhood, I will be able to relax more. Maybe my body will know it's time to try the pregnancy thing over again.
I am truly sorry if I have seemed like a meanie lately. (((( HUGS ))))

I'm sorry you've had a rough ride. First you hated Phoenix so much and now to be stuck in a crappy apartment. I'm glad that you found a new place and that they let you break the lease w/o penalty. I hope your new place rocks!

I really hope so too!! The apartments we are moving to were originally built to be condos. So, the walls are a thicker and more insulated. There were pretty much all newer cars at the complex too. In this parking lot, there a lot of abandoned cars and clunkers.
We just need to get through this work week. I'm going to pick up our moving truck early in the morning and start loading the little stuff until DH's friends come over and help with the bigger stuff. Can not wait to get the heck out of here.

I totally understand where you're coming from. When we moved to the Madison area we had no idea what areas were decent and which weren't, we just went by the little info we had. We ended up moving into a craptastic apartment where there was constant noise, pot smoke in the halls, my clothes got stolen from the washer and the hubcabs were stolen off our car. And it was a stinkin' Taurus!!! there would also be occasional hookers walking the street we lived on and then a shooting a few building down. Needless to say, when I got pregnant there was no way I was bringing a baby home to that place. We only lived there a few months and then broke our lease. I'm so glad you're getting out without having to go through the same lease-breaking crap we did. It sucked. But we did move into a nicer place in a different area and were much happier. I hope you love your new place too. Have a great move!!!
