I went to a shower for a sweet wonderful friend, who is due the same time as my loss in May. The shower was adorable and I have to say it was the best food I have eaten! But even though I smiled, played games and oohh and ahhed over pink clothes; I wanted to cry the whole dang time. Pathetic

Nope, not pathetic! I went to a baby shower in July, when my Quinn would have been 5 months old and it was HARD to see all the gifts she got! Trust me!

You're not alone in this!!!!

Awww, it's so tough honey. I went to one back in March for a friend who was due the SAME DAY I was and it killed me. I played the games and ate the wonderful country club food, but I still wonder why I went. I hope you feel better.

Im sorry it was hard, and pathetic is so not the word hunny. I think youre a very wondeful person (all of you who have done this are) for having put aside your own personal grief and anguish in order to help a friend celebrate. It only gives you something to look forward to when you have that healthy baby you deserve.

I'm so sorry hunny. Please don't feel pathetic. You did a good thing and you are a good friend. I haven't even gone to see my best friend's new baby because she had him a week after my EDD with my last pregnancy and the day after we found out that we would lose this baby too. I feel horrible, but thankfully she understands and told me to come when I am ready. You are so strong to be able to be there for your friend.

Thank you ladies for all the kind responses! I am feeling better today. I am really happy for my friend, its her second and last baby and she has had a TERRIBLE pregnancy (constant bleeding, two deaths in the family, Hypermesis, and a deployed dh) and I WANTED to celebrate with her. I was pregnant again when I replied yes to coming but lost that baby last month.
I will survive this pain, its just not a picnic!
