Does anyone know how long you are supposed to wait until TTC again after a D and C? We were out of town when i ended up having to have my D and C done, and i dont have an appointment with my doctor until 6 weeks from now. We just dont know if we should be waiting until after that appointment? or have any of you gotten the "OK" before the 6 week mark?

I'm sorry, I didn't have a D&C. I think it depends how far along you were and which doctor you ask. I know that others on the board will be able to answer this more clearly.

I had a D&C 2 weeks ago. My midwife recommended waiting 1 cycle but she wasn't set on it. The Dr. that did the D&C didn't give me any restrictions on BDing at all! I personally decided to wait until I stopped bleeding completely and until my hormone levels were all the way down (I tested using HPTs). I finally got a negative HPT yesterday and DH and I started BDing right away. I didn't have any pain or anything. I doubt I will get pregnant this cycle but it could happen. We just didn't want to go back on the pill.

Keep us posted on what you decide. I would just go on how your body feels! Don't do anything that hurts.

Most Dr's recommend waiting until AF comes (which will vary from person to person. My loss was at 10 weeks and AF came 36 days after my D&C). Some Dr's recommend waiting 2 or 3 cycles though. If you were to get pregnant before AF came, I think the hardest thing is dating the pregancy. Personally I would wait until AF comes to give you body some time to heal.

After my D&C my doctor said no sex for 4 weeks, and wait to try to conceive for 3 months. We waited the 4 weeks to have sex, but started ttc after my period returned, which was exactly 29 days after the D&C.
