Hello Ladies,
My name is Sara and I have lurked here quite a bit. I miscarried my first pregnancy last month. It was heartbreaking as all of you know. We had been trying for 9 cycles, finally got the BFP, and then I had a bad dream that something was wrong with my pregnancy. I have been with my OB/GYN for 10 years so when I called to tell my doc about the dream she kind of laughed at me for being so silly and then said she would be happy to run my betas to 'make me feel better'. well, 4 blood draws and an ultrasound later it was confirmed that my numbers were not rising as they should and that my pregnancy was not viable. I m/c at 6 weeks.
So, here I am anxiously waiting for my first post-m/c period which is now 2 days late. I really want it to start so that we can get back to TTC! I am so ready to try again. I have read that it is normal for the first period after the m/c to be late, but I am wondering how late?? can anyone share their experiences?? I have been feeling crampy for the last 2 weeks but still no hint of AF. I guess I am just anxious for her to get here already! thanks for any sharing/input/etc.
Sara

i just wanted to say im so sorry for your loss
i was lucky enough that af showed when she should have after all my losses but i have known some women to still be waiting after 9 weeks.
personally i would give it til 6 and then call the doc for something to start it off.
i hope you can get to ttc soon and get your sticky bean
xx

I am so sorry for your loss. I miscarried at 10 weeks naturally in Aug and my cycles have been a little messed up since then. My first cycle was a couple days later than normal. I know a few women on here that it took a while for AF to resume. I agree with Sarah. If it doesn't start within 6 weeks I would call the doc and ask for something to get the ball rolling. If you have DTD since the M/C I would take a test just to be sure before I took anything to bring on AF. I have heard that some women are very fertile right after a loss. Good luck and hope to see you on the board and eventually getting that BFP.

Welcome to the board, Sara!
I'm very sorry to hear of your loss!!! Did you have a natural m/c or, did you have a D&C?
I had a natural miscarriage at 5 weeks 1 day, and AF returned 32 days after the bleeding had stopped, so roughly 4 days late. Everyone is different, and I hope AF comes quickly for you!!!

Thank you so much for the replies! I did miscarry naturally - the day before I was scheduled for a procedure to terminate - and I am really grateful for that. I guess I will just continue to *patiently* wait for AF to make an appearance!! crazy how we go from being scared to miss a period, to being so angry when we get our period, back to wanting it......ahhhhhhh the cycle!!!! my gyno recommended acupuncture and it is covered by our insurance so I think I am going to check that out for starting to TTC again. anyone given it a try??

Sara,
Sorry about your loss. I have had 2 recent early natural m/c and my period was on time after both. My dr. had told me it could take months to get back to normal, so I guess I'm lucky in that regard. I have done acupuncture for other things (blood pressure, dizziness issues), and I had a little success w/ it. I've heard it can help w/ fertility. I would definitely recommend giving it a try, especially if it's covered w/ your ins. Good luck!

I was also trying for about 8 cycles when we finally got our bfp. One week later, I went to the midwife and my betas said that I was approx 1 week, which I knew was not right. I proceded to m/c naturally on October 24th. Now, I am waiting for af. However, I have heard that you ovulate a couple of weeks after a m/c, so we were also trying these past weeks. I am hoping that bfp or af happen soon, so that I will know exactly what is happening. Good luck, and I would love to know what happens to you. Good Luck.

I am so sorry for your loss. I also miscarried my first (at 10 weeks, in August).
AF came 35 days after my D&C. My next cycle, I O'd about a week late too. Today I am on CD16 of the 2nd cycle after my loss, and I'm waiting to see if this is a normal cycle or not.
I wish you the best!

I just posted about this too! My period finally started 7 weeks to the day after my D&C, so far it is MUCH heavier than usual which my midwife said can happen. I was getting really stressed out about it but AF came, and it will for you too! I'll be thinking of you as you wait this out, I know it's hard but your body will get back to normal eventually!
