I am new to this board!
I lost my sweet angel on 11-1-08 at 11 weeks through Natural MC.
My last HCG results came back yesterday and they are back to normal!
My doctor wants to test my progestrone levels 21 days after the start of my first cycle to see if they are high enough to support a pregnancy. Even then she wants me to wait another month to actually START trying. So thats 2 months from now, however after all my research I have read many stories of women going on to have healthy pregnancies immediatly following a miscarriage. I also read that there is no proven risk to concieve immediatly that in fact that most women are extremely fertile after a miscarriage.
I am not looking to replace my angel but my husband and I both really want a precious LO to care for and add to our beautiful family. My husband has no biological children, although he treats mine (from a previous marriage) as his own.
Any advice?

Welcome to the Board Jennifer, I am sorry for your loss.
I think when to start TTC is different for every lady and every doctor. Some are more conservative than others.
Mine told me to we could TTC after 2 full cycles.
Good luck and KUP on your decision

I am sorry for your loss. Welcome to the board. From what I have heard you should wait one cycle to try. It has to do with uterine lining and implantation. I think with a natural miscarriage there is a little less risk because there was no cleaning of the uterus. I too know of many people who have gone on to have healthy pregnancies right after their M/C. It's a personal decision to weigh the pros and cons. Good luck to you

If you disagree with what your Dr is telling you, I would talk to her before disregarding the advice. Some Dr's are more conservative, but your Dr knows your situation best, so 2 months might be what she believes is best in your situation.
I am so sorry for you loss

First of all im so sorry for your loss, and welcome to the board.
I didnt read anyones reply but knowing these women, im sure we are all suggesting about the same ideas.
The decision to try again after having a baby is between you and your hubby. If your HCG levels are gone and mentally you feel as though youre ready, then go for it. Make sure as SOON as you know youre pg though that you do go talk to your doc about progesterone and such, just to make sure.
All in all its your decision, but please dont fool yourself into thinking it will happen immediatly, or even that your first BFP is guarenteed to be your healthy one. Ive been here for nearly a year, and it breaks my heart when we get new members because they come in all motivated, but after about 2-3 cycles of no BFP they get so beat down. Just go into it with an open mind, and expect to wait a while, then if it happens the first cycle then itll be a happy surprise!!!
Good luck and best of wishes to you. Hopefully itll happen quickly, but until then feel free to hang out and get to know everyone

Hi Jennifer! Welcome to the board..I'm very sorry to hear of your loss!!!
I agree with the ladies and your doctor....so I'm torn. I agree to begin trying whenever you're mentally ready for it. But, I also agree in waiting so your doctor can run those tests on you.
I noticed in your siggy that you got married on November 1st, 2008...I'm sorry you lost your baby on your wedding day.

I am so sorry for your loss
I would personally ask your Dr why such a long wait.
Mine even after 2 losses at 17 and haveing birthed the babies followed by emerg d&c after for retained placenta and with first also had a 3 unit blood transfusion. I was able to ttcing first cycle after first AF.
I did get pg after first loss at 17w inspite of the d&c and blood tranfusion 7w later and now have a healthy 13 month old.
Good luck!

I have read that waiting does nothing to increase chances of a healthy pg. The only reason they say to wait a full cycle is to date the pregnancy. Are there any other circumstances? Because, if not, I don't understand why your doc would recomend all of that after 1st m/c.

Thank you so much ladies for all your wonderful advice! I talked it over with DH and we are going for it! I feel like AF is on it's way, for the first time in a long time I am praying for it to come so we can start charting!!! My doctor said to expect my first period with in a month after the MC... it will be 3 weeks Saturday since my miscarriage! Planning this gives me something to focus on, and I am truely excited to be embarking on this journey.... I am really hoping for a 2009 baby!
And Jessica, yes I did lose my little angel on our wedding night I got married Saturday morning at 10am and was in the hospital by 6pm that evening. As horrible as it was to go through, I was so thankful to have my wonderful husband by my side... he is amazing.
