I'd like a new ipod (I have the first generation nano) but mine works fine, so there's really no need. I only use it for songs though....tell me more about podcasts!

I listen to podcasts more than I listen to music!
Christine do you ever listen to any talk radio shows? Most will have a free podcast that you can subscribe to and download into iTunes - this way you never miss an episode. There are also other ones that you can find and download too.
I just got a nano in March for my b'day, and I already want to upgrade it to the Touch.

I have a third generation nano. I love it. It is an 8GB. It seems to have a never ending capacity. I only have music on it, no videos or tv shows so it holds something like 10,000 songs. It has a great battery life. My husband gave it to me to replace a samsung mp3 player that had every problem you coul ever imagine.
What are your holiday plans? Anything special or trips?

I have a 3rd generation iPod as well! I love it! It holds 7,500 songs and I barely make it to 1,000! I'd like to get the Touch, but I'm not wanting it that much enough to pay for it!
For the holidays...nothing going on here! Work, and trying to get Christmas stuff situated!

im the same way erika...I had to buy different headphones to wear with it...I dont know what it is about earbuds but they make my ears sooooo sore...they literally hurt at the touch after I take earbuds out...
Podcasts are basically people talking...like Kim said...the ones Im subscribed to are just normal people talking about book reviews...for example...a book I am dying for is coming out in march...each month the author is releasing an excerpt from the new book...the podcasts are these the 3 grad students analyzing the excerpts...its just neat to hear other peoples opinions...
I'm also subscribed to CNN Express

Thanks for the info!
I have YET to find earphones that work for me. The ones that come with the ipod hurt me as well, plus they don't stay in my ears that well. So I tried the ones that have the big "bulb" thing on them that go more IN your ear (hope that makes sense) and those don't stay in at all! I'm going to have to get the ones that go around your ear too to keep them in.

I have 45k songs on my computer, an OLD 20G ipod (no video, no color, small screen), and an iphone. My ipod is completely crammed and my iphone barely has half filled and it's mostly applications and pictures. But I'm with all of you, earbuds are the devil. Make my ears feel like I've been jamming my elbow in it for days.
Anyone want some music?

I actually mostly listen to my iPod in the car through the stereo. I also have my photos backed up on it.
Jason likes the gel earbuds. They are smaller and fit more comfortably in his ears. I use my sound dampening earphones (I bought them for air travel) and they don't go into the ear canal.
Danielle - I haven't see Twilight but would love to hear a review!

I hate the earbuds that come with the iPod itself! I went and got SkullCandy buds and they are sooo amazing! Gummy outside, and aren't as big as the iPod ones. I love 'em!

Don't worry, I don't have an iPod either. I find paying $1 for a song is ridiculous.

I've uploaded all of my CDs into iTunes and then I can download just the songs I like. $1 is so much cheaper than $20 for the whole CD! I will not illegally download the files. I'm too freaked out about viruses!

I don't have a lot of CD's because I use Sirius/XM satellite radio. There is no need for me to use any type of MP3 player. I can listen to my Sirius/XM at home, in the car, at work. It works best for me and, in the end, it's cheaper than MP3 players.

We have Sirius in the trucks...but I wouldn't be able to pick up the reception inside the hospital...so I mostly use my Ipod during working out, at work (helps me focus), and at night when DH has the TV and stuff on in the bedroom...I can turn on my Ipod and roll over and go to sleep...
We went and got everything we need to cook on Thursday...this is our first Turkey Day at our house and the first time we are responsible for cooking everything...this is the menu we have planned so far...let me know if we forgot anything "traditionally" Thanksgiving food...
TURKEY
STUFFING
GREEN BEAN CASSEROLE
YAMS W/ MARSHMALLOWS
MASHED POTATOES
CORN ON THE COB
CRESCENT ROLLS
HAWAIIAN SWEET ROLLS
PUMPKIN PIE
CARAMEL PECAN PIE
CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES (for the kids)
I think thats it...omgosh...I'm terrified I'm gonna mess something up! I've never had to cook so much food alone in my life!
ETA: I forgot...we also got CRANBERRY SAUCE!!
