Hey everyone, I'm not new to justmommies, I used to be a part of the Jan 06 ddc, then took a break to deal with a hard divorce. My youngest child was diagnosed with FTT when she was young and had to have a feeding tube placed so she could get the nutrients she needed. I decided to start lurking again after I remarried when my DH decided he wanted to have a baby, so I started reading TTC message boards. 4 mths after we started trying I conceived in July and our Due Date would've been April 7th 09. We ended up having to go to the hospital on our anniversary because I started bleeding at 17 wks, that was Oct 26, our baby had to be delivered the next day. He didnt have a heartbeat and it was the worst thing I have ever been through. I thought the divorce was going to rip me apart, but just when you think youve been through the worst it gets even harder. John David, our son, weighed 6.5 ounces and was 16 cms long. I got to hold him and I have his pics and footprints. Now being that everything was so close to the holidays everyone in our families have bought us baby stuff. We told them all that we would take the gifts anyways because we are going to try again. Hopefully it will happen sooner than later. I just know that its going to be hard opening gifts meant for the baby, but things happen for a reason. Its hard for me to say that but if I didnt think that it wasnt true I couldnt have gotten through it. I do have 3 beautiful children from my prior marriage, but my DH doesnt have any. I'm also curious, if anyone knows how long it takes the pregnancy hormone to get out of your body(HCG) after a loss? I want to start trying again, and I feel confident and ready but I want to make sure that everything is up and running properly before trying.

I am so sorry for your loss
Didn't your Dr give you any ideas on when you could TTC again? My loss was earlier than yours (at 10 weeks) and I had a D&C. I was told to wait for AF and then I could start trying. Have you gotten AF yet?

I'm so sorry
I lost my son at 20 weeks in July. I was told to wait 1 cycle before ttc again. My first AF after the stillbirth was 5 1/2 weeks later.
I think the pregnancy hormone drops out of your system fairly quickly.

I am so sorry for your loss
I was in the hospital on my wedding night lossing my baby, so I completely can relate, however I was only 11weeks during my loss..
As far as TTC again, I'm not sure since you were so much further along in your pregnancy... My HCG levels were back down after 2 weeks. My doctor told us to wait at least 2 months to TTC.. and after 1 cycle of AF.
I however did some research and Hubby and I are TTC right away.. I am hoping to test next week. I wish you the best sweety!! ((HUGS))

I'm sorry for your loss. How quickly AF comes varies from woman to woman. For me, it takes a little longer. Is your dr watching your levels?

I havent received AF yet but hoping soon, the dr. was very vague with us after the delivery he set us up with an appt. tomorrow at 2:30. After I got out of the hospital I only bled for a week then it all stopped. I've had some cramping on and off for about a 2 wks, so I'm not for sure whats going on. But I'm going to hand the Dr. a laundry list of questions tomorrow. I'm really kinda nervous that hes going to tell me something bad, I would just die if I knew that it was something I did that caused the baby to die. We are also suppose to find out what happened or atleast get the results of the tests they ran on the baby, the cord and the placenta. They did some blood tests on me also, I just hope they tell me I wont have to wait very long, because now I'm super anxious to get started again. Also this might be TMI but me and DH have not refrained from intercourse for about 2 wks now, I know they say not to for 6wks, but DH I think is more anxious than myself to have a baby. So I'm a little afraid that the Dr. is going to get onto us for that too. And then I think that what if we got pregnant to soon and it happens again. I have soooo many worries, I hope I get some of them cleared up tomorrow.

I lost my baby at 24 weeks on March 20th. I was told I could start ttc in June. Although I personally wasn't ready emotionally until July... more or less anyhow and then had to stop when it was getting close to October because I couldn't handle it if I had another July DD.
I will mention that the doctor gave me a prescription for just folic acid, and wanted to make sure I took that for a month before ttc again (and have been since late April).

I am so sorry for your loss.. Like Mrs .bush Said I was told to take folic acid and baby asprin..I had a miscarriage at 19 .5 weeks in Septmeber so I can understand what you are going through... I think I took a pregnancy test around 2.5 weeks after my D&C and it was negitive. Everyone is different. I was told I needed to wait one cycle after my surgery..
It is still hard to this day and I am sure for the rest of my life but each day gets a little easier...
I wish you the best of luck with your journey of ttc

Welcome to the board, I am so deeply sorry for your loss!!!!
The hCG level drops everyday, if you start taking cheap HPTs now to see if they're still positive or not, or to see the line get lighter then you know AF is on her way.
I hope you stick around, you'll find answers to just about anything on here.

I am so sorry honey I lost a baby at only 6 weeks, in October. It was a lot earlier, of course, but my midwife told us to go for it right away. I hope you get your answers. Good luck.

I lost my son at 21 weeks on August 13th and the perinatologist told us to wait 3 cycles. So we are now officially TTC again.

Thanks everyone!! I know its sad, but I'm glad I have other people here who have been through it. Its getting easier everyday but now my patience is wearing thin on wanting to have a baby and its not even been a month. I think its just because I cant go back to work until next week so staying at home everyday is not good for thinking. Me and DH are stationed in a military town, and being away from family is hard enough without having to deal with this. I really appreciate all the replies, Thank you.

My daughter was born still at 24 weeks. We were told to wait two cycles before TTC, but I had to have a D&C to remove retained placenta. I hope you get the answers you're looking for from your doctor. Not knowing why it happened can be very hard to accept. Good luck on getting your bfp!

I also had a D&C to remove the rest, they did it about 5 hrs after the baby was born because the placenta was still completely attached to the left side of my uterus, Im so worried that the surgery affected my uterus... My doc appt is today at 230 and I'm on pins and needles waiting, I've been up since 5am stressing, GEEEESH! I wish it was 2 already!

I just wanted to tell you that I am very sorry for your loss. I hope that you get some answers and some sort of closure today at your Dr's appt. Let us know how it goes and you and DH will be in my prayers.
