I think the reason this was so important to me, is that my dbf is not a father yet. I have two beautiful girls that he loves, but he has none...YET! Anyways, I work as a bartender/waitress at an Irish pub in downtown Boston. Today, near the end of my rather boring shift, a family comes in. The couple are both beautiful. The little girl was beyond words. So, I began talking to them. The little girl looked to be MAYBE 12 months, but is actually 18mos. Tiny and SOOOOO cute. The mom was atleast 5-6mos pg. I immediately felt rather jealous, though I tried not to. I looked at them and thought (shame on me) " all I want is 1 baby and here they are popping them out like no tomorrow". Well, since I am a talkative person, I talked to them extensively. Turns out, they have been married 10 years! They were on fertility treatments for 5 years. When they finally gave up...naturally came Selena!!!! Now, number two is also on the way...naturally! I continued to watch and listen to the Marine dad goo and gaa over his 'miracle' daughter. Normally, I would make fun of someone this rediculous over their child. But, after knowing their story, I was amazed. I felt...happy for them, guilty for having bad thoughts at first, and empowered that IT DOES HAPPEN!!!! Just thought I would share.
