Yes I am on EST! It is 3am. I couldn't sleep and padded over to my laptop. I began looking at "trying to concieve quickly" searches Anyway, one of the things that I continually came apon was that they recomend 400mc of folic acid. My midwife has me on 1000! Does anyone have any experience in this??? AF is slowly walking away, and I want this to be the last time I see her for atleast 9 months...I breastfeed, so hopefully longer Anyway, just a late nite/early morning thought.

i am on high amounts of folic acid because of other meds i take. 400 is the standard amount that most take so maybe they are just using that number.
higher dose wont cause you to have trouble ttc or your doc wouldnt have given you them

I think 400 is the RDV normally, it then goes up to 800 - 1000 in pregnancy so you should be taking the 800-1000 now since you wont actually Know you are pregnant until AFTER you are pregnant.... make sense?

I actually think I am technically taking nearly 2mg. I am taking a 1mg FA pill and then I started taking prenatal vitamins that I think have 800mcg in it. I just decided that since I was bad at taking them when I was pregnant I would take them now to get used to it. My iron is borderline anyhow and I don't have technicolor urine, so I must be processing it well...

But is that too much FA?
