I had a friend on another message board crochet a stocking for me for Clark.

I don't like it It was supposed to be baby blue with white baby footprints but the footprints don't look like feet and Clark's name at the top looks like a child stitched it. It's not centered, not even and I think it's even spelled wrong!

She's a really nice person and I don't want to hurt her feelings. I asked if she could change the feet at all and asked if the name was spelled right.

I don't want to pay $20 for something I'm totally unhappy with though.

(She has an Etsy shop and sells crocheted/knit items)

friends are friends, business is business! you are paying for something then you want it to be right. if it was a shop you would have returned it no questions. i would tell her nicely but straight, its not what you asked for and not worth that money.
sorry, i have no tact tonight!

I have to agree with Sarah, you are paying for her services and you want it to be just like you asked for. Be honest.

I would explain to her just like you did us, tell her "I value you as a friend, I don't want to hurt your feelings, but I wanted to let you know that this stocking is not really what I had in mind... it seems that the feet are not very clear...".. ect.

Just be extremely nice, if she is a true friend, she will understand and probably already knows it looks like crud.

Like Sarah mentioned, you're paying for it - you want it perfect.

I agree with everyone too. Business is business. Why buy something you won't ever use. If it were at a regular store you would return it right? Good luck hon. These situations are always sticky.
