Not a very big one, only a 5.5 and centered about an hour away from us. But it shook us enough to make us notice!

That is so funny. I didn't even feel the earthquake and we aren't far from Ludlow. It is about a 40 minute drive to there. I read that it shook the town of Yermo which is where my husband works. I thought I would feel a 5.1. Wow I feel like an idiot

I never feel them, so don't worry. Not that I would necessarily feel them here in San Diego. But when they are closer and during the night, I sleep right through them unless they are long ones.

Alicia,
We are really close. I am in Silver Lakes right off Highway 18 D street. We are in Victorville or Apple Valley at least once a month. I was in Apple Valley Yesterday and the day before. That is so funny.

That's crazy, we live in Apple Valley. Josh works down the hill though.

I saw that on the Earthquake map. I always pay attention to it since we get earthquakes in Las Vegas area on occasion.

I don't tend to watch news in the morning, but it's like we would of felt that earthquake down here either way, I'm also down in the San Diego Area.

Wow...an earthquake. Never felt one. We don't have those here. Just snow and cold. I would be terrified of earthquakes. I guess you are all used to them.

I'm glad everyone's okay.

When I was in university I would always go to the Geology building after an earthquake in North America. They have a seismic machine going 24/7 and it would pick them up (even in central Canada)! It was really neat to see it. I wouldn't want to be in one though!

You know I am deathly afraid of hurricanes and tornados. I guess you are just afraid of what you don't know. But yeah, you don't have a warning usually (although sometimes animals sense them coming I hear), but unless things are falling off the walls I myself think they are kinda fun. Like being on a giant massage mat or something.

Patty, I'm in East County and my folks are up in North County. Where are you?

Whoa thats crazy!

I think anything unpredictable is scary...like earthquakes and tornadoes...at least with hurricanes we get a few days warning and a chance to pack our stuff and get outta dodge!!

Glad you are all ok!!
